Legal Experts Slam Judge’s Approval Of Trump’s Special Master Request

Most of the alarm expressed by experts in this matter involved National Security.

I would think that our national survival and its protective measures would cast a different ameliorative take on the actions of this corrupt judge.

Not only is the horse out of the barn, we’ve mucked out the stall.

How will, and how long will, the judicial system proceed with confidence in itself and the confidence of the citizens in an atmosphere where all are cynical and skeptical about the outcomes?

Sans Congress, I see Dystopia, although anything can happen with so much chaos introduced to America by Donald Trump.

The frustrating thing to me is that the messaging (horserace, bothsiderism, etc) are alive and well among us and the seriousness of our predicament tend to land on soft ears with that kind of narrative.

To make it worse, the GOP has settled on adolescence as the National Age…which does two things for Trumpers:

(1) Make 'em see themselves as mischievous
(2) Makes it fun

It is my (nonlawyerly) understanding that most judges put at least some effort into not getting resoundingly reversed on appeal. Maybe Her Honor is counting on the bozotic nature of the 11th Circuit, but still…

I’m not sure the Federalist Society would support anybody with even a memory of a long ago sense of shame. Their work is best carried out by those in ignorance of even the concept of shame.

Bozotic!!

Special master candidates? They should currently posses a TS/SCI clearance but also be conversant in attorney client and executive privilege matters.
Small universe.

I suspect it is a universe that is mostly inhabited by current and former members of the national security and intelligence communities.

99.99% of whom currently want to see the former Apprentice host stood up against a wall and summarily shot.

The special master’s privilege review may not end up taking all that long.

If my understanding is correct, ‘Judge’ Cannon’s ruling allows for the National security implications to proceed. Fingerprint analysis on all the classified documents, questioning of all so identified, possibly indictments for all those without appropriate clearance by all rights and reason should be part of that investigation. Then, after any unbiased and non-corrupt Special Master determines there is NO valid executive privilege claim and very limited attorney/client privilege the more thorough investigation can continue. In the mean time, NatSec investigators have all kinds of facts, carrots, and sticks at their immediate disposal. Use them! Now!

Maybe Cannon (and other overt Trumpers) thought Mike Flynn might be the only qualified candidate.

I doubt he still has security clearance.

Cannon is given enough rope to not hang but to identify herself. She is also outnumbered, wth respect to brainpower.

Good post. Trump is still in legal jeopardy (most likely an item after November). He was able to change the subject from being a criminal to being corrupt today.

Florida judge.

Yep. He may have been able to change the subject, but he hasn’t changed any of the facts.

:100:

I’m willing to bet this was anticipated and the FBI/DOJ was working around the clock with as many resources as they had available to gather as much evidence as they could as quickly as they could. They probably already have a wealth of information (evidence) that they can work on even as the docs are put on hold.

Wondering, out loud, what if DOJ was to indict tfg first thing in the morning?

As I understand it, Donnie’s ‘special master’ has to know to use a rolled up Forbes, not a riding crop.

Garland gives about as much a fuck on being criticized as he does about being made to start yakking.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Donnie’s team suggests Kash Patel, Chris Miller and Devin Nunes. or their ilk.
Oh, and tfg’s lawyer, Jim Trusty, already suggested he could be special master during last weeks’ hearing. IIRC.
