Lafayette Park Protesters Aren’t Federal Prisoners, But Prison Riot Teams Are There Anyway | Talking Points Memo

Among the alphabet soup of federal law enforcement agencies patrolling the streets of Washington, D.C. in recent days, a deployment of “crisis management” teams from the Federal Bureau of Prisons stuck out like a sore thumb.

Because it is a prison riot in the American Battlespace. It seems that the Trump/Barr thinking is that all that lies ahead is violence and upheaval anyway, so why not get a head start? Tear gas, anyone?

This is an opportune time for administration officials to meet their future overseers.

Am I the only one who thinks this looks like Russia’s actions in Ukraine - causing chaos, using unmarked militants, etc. Am I paranoid if I think Putin might have suggested it on one of their recent phone calls? Just sayin’.

If that guy wearing bicycle clips on his trousers and an ergonomically correct backpack on his back
isn’t a criminal, I don’t know who is.

People trained to take down hardened criminals and murderers who have overtaken a prison violently being face-to-face with crowds of normal citizens…

What could possibly go wrong?

The protests aren’t so bad that extra troops are needed…police by themselves have not been having trouble for the most part, and at least some of the trouble has been caused by police actions. The rioting has required National Guard support in many places because there were literal looting teams over a widespread area. These guys, without insignia, trooping around the nation’s capitol, have a specific mission, and don’t interact with the public when following that mission. The other times mentioned are essentially extra boots when there is a real serious upheaval, and mostly didn’t have anything to do with policing citizens. They aren’t the right people to respond to a peaceful protest, their training is to dominate and shut everything down quickly…any misstep by protestors would be met with too much reaction. We are already seeing that from the regular police.

Of course, these guys were brought into DC to “dominate the battle space”, and it’s really frightening how quickly CD is turning into a police state around the White House, with the fencing and troops stationed there. That has already been bad, if it continues (and Trump will want it to so he doesn’t have any protestors around anymore) then it’s going to go really bad at some point.

The sock free feet and tan loafers confirm that assessment.

I suspect that a prison riot team is used because the current maladministration has internally admitted to themselves that they have imprisoned the regular population within the nation now occupied by the maladministration.

Yes, that’s snark. It is also fitting as a valid explanation for their worldview. We are their prisoners.

So how is this happening? Of course the GOP Toadies won’t do a thing, but where the hell are the Democrats? How is this legal? WHO is paying for this?

I was wondering when someone was going to notice that.
About time.
Even though I guess it didn’t take that long.

These prison guards are kind of the dregs of law enforcement, no? They certainly look woefully untrained for much of anything rather than watching NFL at home and spilling bean dip on the carpet. Trump/Barr are calling up anyone who will listen, including these guys.

I wonder…just wondering…Trump has called in the 82nd Airborne, and they’re hanging around DC not doing much at the moment. I wonder if he’s scared they won’t obey his orders to brutalize American citizens? So he uses everyone down to prison personnel instead?

Tear gas, anyone?

“My name is Michael, and I’ll be your arresting officer today. Would you like your Miranda warning before or after the tear gas?”

“Could I have it on the side?”

“Of course, Miranda on the side. Will you be walking by yourself into the unmarked van, or do want pepper spray with that?”

“Just a touch of pepper spray, thanks.”

“My pleasure!”

It’s only a matter of time…

When will the MSM give us a count on white people being gassed in Lafayette Park.

As I stated (somewhere) on another thread, this scares the bejesus out of me.

I live near three federal prisons. I know several prison guards. They are almost all Trump nuts. They treat everyone and anyone as one of their inmates. They can take the most minor of misunderstandings and escalate it to unimaginable heights. They wouldn’t think twice about tackling and harming a child or an elderly person.

However, as long as the maladministration keeps up “Fortress White House”, we should continue viewing it with our cameras and broadcasting it widely through the media. Keep reminding the American people of that image. He is walling YOU out. He is holding YOU back from him. He is hiding in his bunker from YOU.

That is NOT a perspective of strength. It is a perspective of cowardice and fear.

Note that his underwear also seems to be rumpling the heck out of his pants. Looks like the old days when guys wore yards of cloth in their starched boxers. (Like my dad did)
