‘Kraken’ Team Pelts Judge With Fraud 2020 Redux In Sanctions Hearing | Talking Points Memo

A group of attorneys who sought to overturn the 2020 election doubled down on the effort in a sanctions hearing in federal court in Detroit on Monday, enraging a federal judge as they pushed for one last chance to explain to the world how the election was stolen.

Disbarment is too light for them. I suggest monetary damages in the Millions, and debtors prison until they can pay!

I thought Team Kraken might have had a moment of clarity when they hired counsel to represent them in connection with the sanctions, but boy howdy was I ever wrong. Sounds like the Campbell clown is cut from the same lunatic conspiracy cloth as his clients.

Don Campbell, an attorney hired by Wood and Powell, replied with a sneer: “It’s called an evidentiary hearing.”

Those reponsible for defending the sanctionable lawyers, have been sanctioned.

What have they got to lose? They are playing a long game here, they know they are going to get crushed, they are hoping to get into the grifter circuit. You can’t be a martyr if you’re not martyred.

Doubling down on idiocy. Sidney Powell says that she’s never been able to show evidence to the court. Judge Parker just spent 6 hours begging them to show even a shred of evidence. Very sad that they’re throwing away their legal careers.

When your this deep in the MAGA mud, you might as well just keep digging.

The only true question is whether the courts are finally going to sanction Team Kraken for abusing and misusing the court’s time.

In one exchange, Judge Parker told counsel, “I think it’s wrong for an affidavit to be submitted as evidentiary support if there’s been no minimal vetting.”
“How am I supposed to draw evidence from it?” she added.
Don Campbell, an attorney hired by Wood and Powell, replied with a sneer: “It’s called an evidentiary hearing.”

The same guy, later said this:

“You gotta be able to trust when something is submitted by counsel,” he said. “That should have tremendous value; I would say it ends the discussion on whether there’s good faith to submit it.”

Or, “Who you gonna believe, me or your lyin’ eyes.”
They’re really doubling down on the abuser’s tactics.
I hope to see them roundly chastised.

Thowing away your career beats getting prosecuted for fabricating evidence.

IANAL, but this seems like a questionable legal strategy.

Sidney Powell -oh my just omg.

They repeatedly pushed for an evidentiary hearing that would allow them to trot out dozens of affiants who had made already-debunked claims and to relitigate a series of baseless and bonkers complaints about the 2020 election.

Well, if time and money were of no concern, this might make for an interesting prime-time melodrama, maybe to replace The Bachelorette. The entire premise of the show would be to demonstrate an exercise in futility. It really doesn’t deserve any time before an actual judge, though. Not even Judy.

‘Kraken’ Team Pelts Judge With Fraud 2020 Redux In Sanctions Hearing

If this whole matter was not so serious when it comes to the sanctity of our elections, it would be very easy to write it all off as hysterically funny Theatre of the Absurd.

All of these so-called “Kraken” attorneys fighting for Trump, along with the attorneys representing them, should be cited for contempt, charged with fraud and perjury, and summarily disbarred.

Sounds??? Nay IS!!! That is exactly where Campbell is coming from.

“We would welcome the opportunity to actually prove our case; no court has ever given us the opportunity."

Early in a previous career, I met a man (confined to a state mental hospital) who claimed to be Mexican revolutionary general Pancho Villa. He swore that if he could just get a fair hearing, he could prove it, but – alas! – the powers that be maintained a conspiracy against him.

That some people are so mentally ill as to believe such things has troubled me to this day.

Has the Kraken Clown Car appeared on Fox “News” yet to yell that Judge Parker refused to hold evidentiary hearings for each and every affidavit in their filing, including the ones that have already been tossed out of other courts and the one where the claim was that the affiant was “perplexed”? The injustice of it!! They can file any shit they want and the judge should be obligated to hear it all!! Actually, I’d like to hear from the guy who was told by an unknown person that an also unknown poll worker told him that all was not well in Voterville (and so all of MI votes should be thrown out). That could be fun.

I don’t think there is anything “sad” about it. It would be a well deserved and just outcome.

For my money, this is just about the clearest 10,000-foot view that shows how today’s circus fits into things:

The whole rest of the thread is golden, btw.
