Half correct. He had a spine when he voted for impeachment and then drank the Kool Aid on Green voting to keep her on committees. He couldn’t vote for both of them or he would be primaried; he may still. He really doesn’t serve the interests of Grand Rapids particularly well since that is a strong D city; it is the suburbs and rural areas that gets R’s elected. He really isn’t any better than the DeVos clan.
I have zero use for Meijer other than his impeachment vote. He might have had my attention if he had voted for removal of Green from committees, but is policies are not something I’m a fan of. He panders to money and power and doesn’t give two shits for anyone who actually has to work for a living. While the district votes a little bit more blue, I don’t think a D will take it for a while. However, my vote will always go against the rich kids, of whom Meijer is one.
I think he would make a great witness for the House managers to call. Liz Cheney too.

The questioning by Republican Senators would be…interesting.
Time to think outside the box, this is an(other) opportunity to throw their shit right back in their faces for all to watch on TV. Accountability for Trump is paramount, it just happens to go hand in hand with making the Republicans choose a side and then making them own it. For them there are major downsides no matter what side they are on, and the further we get away from Trump, the easier for them to escape the Devil’s bargain of their own creation.
