The unidentified officer said the incident was “meant to be a joke,” said Hornaday, who declined to name the officer “due to the matter being a personnel issue.”

Reminds me of the time I was called for jury duty. During voir dire, the prosecutor asked all potential jurors whether they would credit the word of the arresting police officer over the defendant (yes, that was the exact question), to which I replied “I don’t see why the officer should be regarded as more credible, there would need to be corroboration.” I was dismissed from the jury.
When the President of the United States lies repeatedly and without any shame and, when caught in inappropriate and compromising situations, calls it all “a joke,” this is what we get.

A McDonald’s employee’s job was in jeopardy over this “joke.”
The real story is that a rookie cop texted the chief the photo as a joke. And the chief immediately posted it on Facebook saying it was a dark day blah blah blah. Then the chief found out it was a joke and fired the rookie cop. Horrible joke, yes, but the one who caused all the trouble was the chief. The rookie cop didn’t file a report or anything, this was all about the chief embarrassing himself on Facebook.
