Sorry, I’m not done geeking out about this choice. He has a degree in Social Science Education, which means he understands history and government (I have the same degree, though did not become a teacher). He’s originally from Nebraska, and now Minnesota, which means Iowa might be in play? Maybe? In any case, I’m thrilled.

I didn’t get to interact with him a lot at work (I had a totally different practice in a big firm), but I was happily stuck for hours with him and Joan in LaGuardia for a substantial flight delay. A happy and fascinating afternoon.

YAY. Good choice. Those of us in the midwest in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan I think will get the choice she made and why Walz is a good fit from everything I’ve seen. Pennsylvania and Dems on the coast, maybe not so much, but maybe they should. He’s a good pick.
Talking about him as a “progressive” is a plus, not some kind of limiting factor like I’m starting to hear from the bloviators on Morning Joke talk about him. They simply couldn’t hide their disappointment on that show. I think some of these ex-Rs and never-tRumpers on that show wanted a Wall Street type Dem of some sort. I’m just happy that that wasn’t in the cards.

Is the Trump campaign still planning to have JD Vance shadow Harris and Walz through all the swing states they’re visiting in the coming days? I certainly hope so. That is at least as inept a plan as everything else they’ve tried so far. The contrast between JD Vance and Tim Walz is definitely something everyone needs to be well aware of
