Three-Time Loser In a closely watched case, a federal jury acquitted a woman Thursday on charges of assaulting a federal law enforcement officer over the summer during a transfer of detainees to ICE outside of the D.C. jail. Federal grand juries had declined three times to indict Sydney Reid on felony charges for the incident.…

From the MM

Adm. Alvin Holsey is stepping down as head of the U.S. Southern Command after less than a year in what is typically a three-year term. Holsey has overseen the buildup of forces in the Caribbean and the unlawful U.S. attacks on alleged drug-smuggling boats. Holsey’s impending departure comes after he “raised concerns about the mission and the attacks on the alleged drug boats,

Reason: They left someone alive in the last attack.

No word whether or not they picked up the survivors or their status.

Announcing lower drug prices before they are negotiated.

Mehmet Oz, head of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, was quick to clarify that talks over the price of weight-loss drugs are still ongoing.

“We haven’t negotiated those yet,” he said.

He said it repeatedly, but TFG just kept going. Stock tanking? Guess you better cut a deal.

He comments on plenty of things he’s never seen though, like payments to paid protesters for example and a Republican healthcare plan.

Thune said repeatedly before the vote “Why would they not support it. It passed in committee overwhelmingly!” There were also GQP amendments and other falderal attached to it.

I’m assuming that they are alive and housed somewhere in the region as is implicit in the term “survivors”.

Pirro had ordered her prosecutors to impose the stiffest federal charges possible during Trump’s retaliatory surge of law enforcement into D.C.

“Apostasy, lese-majeste, blasphemy, heresy … We have options!”

Old layout didn’t seem broken to me, so why “fix” something we’re all used to?

Those small boats couldn’t make a difference in drug smuggling even if they were loaded with drugs. More tough guy performance. Also, I wonder how the US public will respond if Trump starts a war with Venezuela.

Can’t help but think we’re on the glide path to a second Bay of Pigs in Venezuela. Competent people are leaving, incompetent people are unsatisfied even as they push for ever more illegal actions, and the mission creep is in high gear before there are boots on the ground.

After the first suit was thrown out US district court judge Steven Merryday in Florida gave Trump 28 days to refile and amend the action he threw out on 19 September.

The initial suit had two complaints over 85 pages. The first complaint appeared on page 80. The judge told them to refile and keep it under 40 pages.

The amended complaint includes an itemized list of dozens of allegations tied to specific publications and statements. Like the first lawsuit, Trump is asking for $15bn in compensatory damages. He’s also asking for “punitive damages in an amount to be determined upon trial of this action”.

Pirro will not get the results she’s hoping for if they keep bringing up this nonsense. Especially with the jury pool being DC.

I wouldn’t be shocked if the prosecutors withheld some discovery on purpose to throw the case.
