As you might expect, I could not agree more.
Wait, wut? Is that a real thing? It seems like a thing that you’d have to be a moron to go out in public if it were real. MC Mitch is a sociopathic asshole, not a moron, so I’m gonna need a better cite.
ETA: None of the linky-links work, so it’s obviously bullshit.
Is this the same photo on the AP’s own web-site?
Notice the caption.
I require better proof than this. I am prepared to accept it, if provided. I am not currently accepting single-source photographical evidence that Mitch has Zombie Hands.
An affidavit from McConnell?
Sometimes a rear-guard action is called for.
Republicans have accepted that this looks to be their last move in a decades-long political power-play.
They’ve known since the 2000 GE that this juncture would come. It’s now upon them-- and this is them upholding their suicide pact with Evangelicals-- the only one-issue voting bloc they can assuage and convince anymore.
So what is left for Dems to do? A rear-guard action entailing patience-- and redistricting.
I’m not a Rahm Emmanuel fan-- he’s run hot and cold for my taste over the last decade-plus. But his piece on how to begin changing the political landscape through legislating makes more sense than trying to throw a Hail Mary pass prior to an election. An election that should allow for Dems to work for better government at the state and local levels-- for a decade or more.
That would be great! But I would prefer some kind of independent evidence.
Is every GOP senator getting a dose of REGN-COV2 monoclonal antibodies? They come from stem cells; would Amy Covid Barrett ban them too?
Well said.
Oh shut the fuck up. Idiot.
There is no such person as a “pro-abortionist.” Even a safe, legal termination of a pregnancy is regrettable.
To me the fact that she has less than 3 years experience as a judge is the most ridiculous thing about her being nominated, and probably about to be confirmed, as a life time supreme court judge. A court that, along with the lower courts, can over rule almost everything the president and senate try to do.
There aren’t going to be any new Justices added; no expansion of the Supreme Court.
Joe Biden is not the type; nor is the Democratic leadership in the Senate.
It will not happen.
You really think the Trump administration and the Senate majority aren’t just going to march forward and confirm her in the lame duck session? Since when have notions of legitimacy colored their actions?
Rahm Emmanuel belongs in a cage.
No, I do not think that at all. Re-read my statement until that becomes clear to you.
Well, then what is this magical property you see in the concept of legitimacy that you think might hinder their mission? This is not 1988. The legitimacy of a nominee to the Court (or anywhere else) is as nothing to the degree of power that nominee’s institutional sponsors are willing and able to exercise on their behalf.
You seem like a dislikable person. Bye.
Such nonsense! I’ll have you know, my good man, that I’m a thoroughly delightful individual in every conceivable respect!
