Judge Threatens DHS With Contempt Over Migrant Removals to South Sudan

They’re all objectively idiots that want to be told what to do and Stephen Miller is more than happy to tell them.

From the Guardian

"This is a really big deal,” Murphy said. “It’s a big deal to lie to a court under oath.”

How many times does a judge get ignored, laughed at, lied to and ignored yet again before that judge finally at long last calls the defendants over and says “yer naughty boys”

Do our laws mean anything anymore? Are judges just dads and moms who do not believe in discipline and authority in their courts?

Also, there is no privacy on a plane for attorney-client discussions.

Lesser sanctions may be applied first, but they don’t have to be.

Yeah, I was going with 6 years old with this argument:

The Trump administration seems to be arguing that this was all a big misunderstanding. If only Judge Murphy had specified the amount of hours or days he meant by “meaningful opportunity to object,” then DHS would have known that it was not okay to inform these people of removal in the evening, and deport them in the morning.

“Stop what you’re doing and come downstairs!”
[20 minutes later]
“Why haven’t you come downstairs?”
“You didn’t say when I had to come downstairs…”

My dad was a patient guy. But it was not a good idea to assume his patience was unlimited. I would hope judges are similar with carrying through on warnings.

Of course, but that makes them liable for doing whatever shit he blurts out. Being morally reprehensible doesn’t make him legally responsible when he has zero actual authority.

100% correct, they should all be held accountable for their actions. Taking orders from Nazis is no excuse for following orders from Nazis.

I’m just simply point out why they’re making the decision they’re making, in that Trump has built himself an army of idiot sycophants that are perfectly willing to take orders because it’s to much work to think about what they’re doing on their own

The conversation in court about feasibility also seemed to glide on past the reality of the victims being stuck on a plane for 72 hours! When airlines strand passengers on the tarmac for five hours we set up congressional hearings and write new regs, but call someone a “detainee” and its okay to not stand up straight for three whole days and we’re not supposed to talk about the eighth amendment?
