I hope they’re planning on amending charges or sentencing requests against Flynn in his case and/or prosecuting him to the fullest extent possible following all his fuckery. And his son, too.

Go after Flynn…and I believe that it will turn out that way

“If [Sullivan] finds out there was acquittal, Flynn’s testimony could have made a difference, but he wasn’t usable because he kept changing his story, that’s going to be very bad for Flynn’s sentencing,” Sandick said.

Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.

Part of me sympathizes with the Judge b/c the truth is that Flynn should be charged along with his co-conspirator. He was the driver of it. But I think you can get to that if you allow the trial to move forward. It’s absurd that Cohen is in jail on a criminal conspiracy charge but the beneficiary who was actively involved gets not a peep from SDNY.

Flynn is a criminal. Why was he the GOP President’s National Security Advisor?

I believe you answered your own question.

Flynn must be counting on Trump pardoning him in exchange for his sabotaging of the cases.

Help. I need legal eagles to explain to me why knowing something is illegal is so important. It only seems to be applicable to folks in the Trump orbit - talking to Russians, paying for silence, false FARA filings, etc. I can understand in criminal matters where intent determines the degree of murder, but usually “stupidity” or ignorance is no defense. Why here? Why did Mueller back off charging any spawn or in-laws because of that? I’m old enough to remember when “ignorance of the law” did not let a suspect off Scot-free.

I’ve seen lots of funny men;
Some will rob you with a six-gun,
And some with a fountain pen.

But, it seems only those who use a six-gun suffer any consequences.

Judge Trenga is not a Trump appointee. He was appointed in 2008 by George W. Bush.

Does this threshold only apply to white collar crimes (“white” being the operative word)? I wonder if it doesn’t all come back to privilege…

“There are very substantial issues as to the sufficiency of the evidence,” Trenga, a Trump-appointee, said, according to the reports. “It’s all very, very circumstantial. Much of it is very speculative.”

Federal law under Trump appointees - might as well get used to it. They have all been vetted by Leo.

Judge Trenga:

Dubya Appointee.

On March 24, 2017, Trenga was the first federal judge to rule in favor of the Trump administration’s executive order that limits travel from six Muslim-majority countries.[5]

On May 16th, 2019, Trenga incarcerated the famed whistle-blower Chelsea Manning after she once again refused to testify before a Federal grand jury by holding her in contempt and sending her back to prison a second time, also adding the threat of daily fines of up to $500 a day after 30 days and rising to $1000 a day after 60 days. This return to captivity occurred mere days after Manning was freed from sixty-two days of incarceration for allegedly committing the same offense before another Federal grand jury.[6]

Barr is throwing the case on purpose and Trenga’s knows it…and likes it.

Always a silver lining. Lock him up and let him rot.

Not once they get to Judge Sullivan.

Besides, don’t we expect Flynn to get a pardon anyway?

It is disgusting that all I can think about when I read a judge’s comments is… “is this a trump appointee”? The bar is set so low as to be non-existent for trump appointees. Zero expectations of an integrity or intelligence.

Thanks GOP treasonous Congress.

The harm the senate has done these years is intentional and aids enemy states (eg blocking motions to increase voting security)

One of the preliminary conclusions I’m drawing from all this hub bub is that the Federal Judiciary and the DOJ were filled with “Trumpists” before Trump was even a Trumpist thing. The potential for rightwing malfeasance was already there.

It’s just now turned up to 11.
