Judge Rules Giuliani Is Liable For Defaming Georgia Election Workers

It’s typical Trump-as-mafia-don stuff… “I’ll help you with these legal issues so long as you stay loyal and don’t flip on me!”

The fact that Rudy made his career dealing with exactly this sort of thing but from the other side is pretty wild.

Skanky and Wanky are hosting a $100,000 per plate dinner for Rudy Flatula. This should easily cover the cost of this judgement with money to spare for destroying any potential evidence that was part of the discovery.

Maybe I’m wrong, but I’m getting the impression that folks here don’t like Rudy.

The fact that the court has sanctioned Giuliani for failing to comply with the discovery deadline only means that he missed the deadline - contemptuously, in the judge’s view - and is now having to face the consequences of that. It doesn’t mean he’s off the hook. He is still under a legal obligation to produce the materials. The judge has issued a further order regarding this. And it’s still going to trial.

Makes one wonder whether some of those cases merit a second look.

Ol’ Strokey glitches again — he may need an aide on standby at all times with a cattle prod for an occasional hard re-boot of the wiring.

And now we know why Trump is holding a fundraiser for Giuliani…he’s falling on his sword here by withholding the discovery material, trying to protect the people like Trump. Whether it works we won’t know, that information may be in prosecutor’s hands, but Giuliani held off putting it on record to this point when it was an easy thing to do. He still would have lost this case, so it didn’t change the outcome (aside from a larger fine probably), but it did delay, and possibly avoid, damaging information getting out.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Moscow Mitch, International Drug Shipment Mule Elaine and all of the victims of their criminal enterprises. I wish them more time and happiness feeding at the taxpayer trough, and an uneventful journey into the future.

Meanwhile, it is time for Democrats to appeal that unconstitutional Kentucky law that strips the Kentucky governor of the right to freely appoint Moscow Mitch’s replacement.

The truth is probably a little more banal — Rudy’s rep as a mafia-breaker may include a lot of him taking credit for the hard work of others.

I thought I saw that the judge entered default judgment against him, i.e. the trial is over, Rudy loses, and I assume they proceed to sentencing.

Or using the dirt Mob Family A gave him to take down their rivals in Mob Family B.

I love it when you talk dirty.

He’s partly off the hook.

He has to provide some financial documents and business information related to the amount of damages, but not materials related to liability. The order gets more specific about exactly what financial information he has to produce, but this sentence is the gist of it:

In addition, as this case now heads to trial to determine any damages due on plaintiffs’
claims, Giuliani will be given a final opportunity to comply with discovery relevant to the
determination of damages, both compensatory and punitive, or face imposition of additional
discovery-related sanctions, under Rule 37(b)(2), in the form of adverse instructions and exclusion
of evidence at trial, as outlined in more detail below.

Moscow Mitch looks small and scared, like a hairless long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs.

I hope he’s bedridden for a long time at the end, just like when he had polio as a kid. Locked-in syndrome would be nice, but I think medically not realistic. Still, I can dream.

I believe the trial is to determine the damages.

Those poor women and their families got death threats … and who is to say they’re out of danger? One of Mango Mussolini’s Magats might lose it if he decides to fan the false fires of their overheated minds. Yes, this is a victory but they deserve so much more. All they were doing was their job.

Obviously agents of CHAO’S have inserted an anamatronic Mitch.

I was thinking more like a mangy possum by the dumpster during the day.

IIRC, he tried that, and Jack Smith chose not to buy.

And if he’s willing to forfeit this trial for the sake of keeping his files secret, it’s hard to imagine him then turning around and selling those same secrets to Smith.

Odds are good that Rudy starts drinking early in the morning and stops at bedtime.
