Peter Navarro, Trump’s former trade adviser and a notable Big Lie evangelist, has been trying to hold onto hundreds of emails from his White House career. A federal judge just shut down his argument—again.

I wish we could see these emails. And I wish we could see the documents Donald Trump was willing to force his attorneys to lie about in order to keep.

Creative but a complete waste of the court’s time. How much time and money has gone into this? Good lord.

At one point, he even tried to compare his situation to a 2021 Supreme Court decision allowing the Centers for Disease Control to impose a nation-wide eviction moratorium to slow the spread of COVID-19.

“Here, no agency seeks to wield ‘vast economic [or] political’ powers,” she wrote. “The United States simply seeks the return of its property, and the United States may avail itself of judicial process to vindicate its property rights.”

The Trump Era has been a demonstration of how and why we need competent, professional and reliable attorneys and judges.

They are the Firewall
Along with a decent Fourth Estate

Without these two, we enter the world of rulers and subjects, not elected officials and participant citizens.

Members of the fourth estate need to study up on how to cover would be dictators/authoritarians. And call out DeSantis and others when they are criticized or express a different point of view not shared by them, is not tantamount to communism or socialism. Disagreement is healthy not something to be scorned.

If we hadn’t had an executive which viewed the traditions and deferences by which the government was able to function without an unwieldy code of sanctions as an impediment to its exercise and retention of power, we never would have come to this pass.

Navarro is shamelessly self-righteous, corrupt, and stupid, a virtual trifecta of description.

So what are the next steps? What are the penalties for not complying?

I tell ya, white-collar criming is the way to go.
