Judge Cannon Appears To Ignore Gov’t Filing For Exceeding 200 Word Limit - TPM – Talking Points Memo

The Florida federal judge overseeing the Mar-a-Lago case seemingly shot back at federal prosecutors on Friday. After they warned the judge that Trump was trying to “manipulate” her by seeking further delay, she came back with a curt response: their warning was too long.

Am I the only one who – whenever they see this woman’s photograph coupled with her Donald-stroking antics – immediately thinks of the film “The Stepford Wives”?

That is the reaction of the not-too-bright and very insecure person who feels she is being made to look stupid by someone much smarter and naturally confident.

I’m thinking more Madame Tussauds.

In summation: Donald Trump is not subject to U.S. laws. Many say otherwise. But they’re mistaken.

She construed the government’s notice as a “notice of supplemental authority,” which, she said, is limited by local rules to stay under 200 words.

Now, Smith categorized his Thursday filing as a “notice,” so there’s at least a question here if the local rule that Cannon cites applies here. The notice clocked in at a whopping 237 words.

“Future non-compliant notices or unauthorized filings will be stricken without further notice,” she wrote.

Um…just, wow

But must give her props for working so hard to find ways to not hear this case.

She’s got those eyes that reveal a bad case of Bachmann-Palin Overdrive.

Considering how “well acquainted” she seems to have been with the federal local any rules so far in this trial, this response rather smacks of spelunking for a reason to shit on the prosecution.

This is extra frustrating because it was SO FUCKING PREDICTABLE. How many times does Loosey have to pull the football away? Honest to dog… :rage:

It’s becoming very clear: Judge Cannon has no desire at all to preside over this trial, and she will seize at every opportunity to delay the proceedings.

No, this is not going to get her disqualified. And no, it is not properly a notice of supplemental authority because it does not relate to any new legal authority. It’s a notice of Trump’s lawyers being mendacious pieces of shit, probably best characterized as supplemental briefing, which should have been accompanied by a motion for leave to file (for which Cannon undoubtedly would have denied leave).

Oh, FFS, she’s wearing it on her sleeve: ‘“Imma gonna see to it that FatAss gets off scot free on this…no matter what the evidence”

She could at least put a beard on it.

Girl who got the student council job because the elected class president was suspended for smoking crack is very particular about the rules and regulations.
