A Manhattan federal judge agreed Friday to appoint a special master to review materials gathered from search warrants executed last month on Rudy Giuliani. In doing so, the judge denied a ream of requests from Giuliani for the right to decide what evidence prosecutors would be able to investigate in the case.
Meh. None of it matters. It’s going to take forever to identify the crimes, indict them and then bring it to trial. Giuliani would spend like 10 days in jail and then receive a pardon from Trump in 2025 after Manchin helps get him re-elected.
He should also avoid stairwells, windows, bathtubs, mine shafts, sleeping aids, pieces of rope over 3’ in length, all bodies of water, air travel, hair dyes, and traffic.
Never. Giuliani only gets a special master because of his position as an attorney which renders some of the materials subject to attorney client privilege. The special master will determine what the prosecutors get to see. The prosecutors are welcome to rummage through all of the evidence they have gathered from Trump, subject to the occasional request to exclude certain materials.
Oetken added that the parties would have to come up with a list of candidates to serve as special master by June 4.
Guiliani’s first picks: Mike Lindell and Gordon Sondland. Jacob Chansley might be available after his mental health check-up, and let’s not forget Ammon Bundy, although he might be busy a-defendin’ his “rights.” All of those would be A-OK with Guiliani.
In a curt ruling, U.S. District Judge Paul Oetken for the Southern District of New York flatly benchslapped Giuliani and conservative legal personality Victoria Toensing…
Upon first reading, I thought that “curt” was a misspelling of “court.” But, then I realized that it was not.
