Jordan Tries Again To Dunk On Manhattan DA - TPM – Talking Points Memo

That’s the look he gets when he’s remembering the good times in the team showers.

Worse than dumb, it’s willful ignorance and shameless duplicity.

And the mass protesters are schooling us on what to do if he is.

When Jack Smith announces that he has no intention of investigating Jordan’s role in covering up sex crimes involving minors…

he forget his teeth…or maybe he lost them or swalloweed the teeth.

This is the Plan D after congressional investigation plans A,B and C are an embarrassment of nothing.

It won’t happen in Tennessee, but:

Democrats in the Colorado House of Representatives limited debate on two firearm-related bills Saturday evening after the second afternoon of Republican filibustering.

Followed by:

Colorado lawmakers passed two gun reform bills Sunday after three days of Republican filibustering that only ended after House Democrats dusted off a rarely used rule to accelerate votes and end what they described as stall tactics.

The two passed bills would expand the state’s red-flag law and make it easier to file lawsuits against gun manufacturers and dealers . . . The measures’ passage and the tense debate around them came after hundreds of Denver students and teachers descended upon the Capitol to demand legislation to address gun violence in the wake of yet another school shooting here.

It was that call for action that animated Democrats’ speeches throughout the weekend’s debates. They said the bills would allow for better mental health interventions while removing Colorado-specific protections for gun manufacturers and sellers.

Bibi’s way smarter and more disciplined that Trump. But, Israel’s people are way more politically engaged and tough than the US’s. So it’s almost a wash. But, no way will this nascent Israeli Gestapo get off the ground, as protesters, the courts, police and IDF will do all that they can to prevent it. Bibi’s going to keep trying to find end runs around the law until he either succeeds, or is destroyed. I predict the latter. When your coalition is based on the combined self-interest of religious zealout shirkers of military service, work and taxes, extremist religious settlers, a malcontented cultural underclass, and the most corrupt leader of a democratic country these days bar none (now that Trump’s out of office), there’s only two ways that can go, all-out fascist, or a liberal restoration. I predict the latter as Israel just isn’t ready for the former. In 10-20 years, though, who knows.

And Israel’s response is showing the world an intelligent, informed populace who care deeply about their country.

Not sure how your expectation of my being a lawyer gets in the way of the common sense application. We see Trump let all manner of bullshit fly in lawyerly fashion on the daily.

Better yet, what society can survive when it is legally acceptable for the political allies of a person no longer in power as president to demand all evidence in any hearing in any state that would target him in any way?

Same chances as our capitalism has in surviving when there is a profit in pitching bad health advice during a pandemic. Capitalism won, we lost. The rest is the whims of the sons of the rich and vicious.

But hey, you and the details. I’ll go get my Blue Book.

for a split-second there at the end you can see Steve Martin grinning to himself. Just went a tad tiny bit out of character.

If a President has to stop and think about whether or not he might get indicted for paying hush money to a woman he definitely didn’t have sex with, and then listing that payoff as tax deductible, “legal fees” to his lawyer, or other, similar, matters of profound national security, do we even have a country, anymore?

Lambchop?

I always appreciate when those with whom I disagree make a such strong case against themselves. Let the hearings begin so we can see the full scope of Rep. Jordan’s jackassery.

I see you didn’t answer my actual question. But we can’t go prosecuting people we don’t like or just because they’re malicious assholes. There have to be, um, how you say, actual, codified laws broken, with evidence and shit, like on Law and Order and such. Plus I don’t see how this materially prevents a good DA from doing their job.

Israel to US: Now THIS is how you do it! No antlers, zip ties or shitting in the halls of congress, just plain old fashioned mass protests and civil disobedience applying maximal political pressure on awful leaders and their fascistic ambitions.

I see George Santos’ fingerprints all over this, with his gay Brazilian jungle lasers and Noble Prize.

Don’t be too hard on the guy, he’s not alone. Yesterday, Tapper was interviewing James Comer, the “Chair” of the Oversight committee on which Jordan is a member. Tapper’s defense of Jordan was that he had a right to go after Bragg for refusing to respond to Congress’ request for information. Tapper, softly, reminded Comer that Jordan had refused to comply with a subpoena from the Jan 6 committee. Well, Comer said, this is a federal matter.

Sigh.

Gym is simply one of the many lemmings in the R House caucus following dear leader blindly to their assured destruction and eventual fall over a cliff.
