Jordan Tries Again To Dunk On Manhattan DA - TPM – Talking Points Memo

“For example, a President could choose to avoid taking action he believes to be in the national interest because it would negatively impact New York City for fear that he would be subject to a retaliatory prosecution in New York City.”

Hey, asshole, we’re talking about a former president, right?

So when does Jordan go after Jack Smith?

I believe that is a bullseye of a choice of photo from the TPM photo editor (if they have one). It captures the craven stupidity of the little man. All it needs now is a “my preccioooouuusss” speech balloon.

When Trump gives the word…

It’s probably too soon to be deeply saddened by this newest school shooting. That would be politicizing it.

Let’s go to the tape of Jim Jordan once again…

"Bragg had sent Jordan a letter last week saying that, as a federal committee chair, he had no authority to interfere in a state investigation.

He’s exactly right. Time for the DOJ to get involved.

Some of the PB defendants’ attorneys seem to know what they’re doing, although they’re being undermined by some of their colleagues insisting on calling suicide bombers as defense witnesses. I think they’re a mix of one or two public defenders and a few MAGA morons probably doing it for the publicity. Nobody is likely to be raking in the cash for the defense.

I am constantly struck by the similarities between Trump and Netanyahu (maybe they are twins separated at birth). Both are under multiple corruption/obstruction litigation, have attempted to negate their respective Constitutions, moved to and embraced the extreme (violent) right, refuse to vacate their authoritarian power, and are generally obnoxious “I don’t give a shit” individuals.

Recent reports of (violent) right protesters descending on Jerusalem, and appointment of right-wing Minister of National Security as head of a new national police force predicts an explosive result.

(thanks to Josh M for ironing out some details on the situation)

I’m not looking for any sympathy, but my 79-year-old father-in-law looks and talks almost exactly like Jordan.

An argument could be made of the contrary, that he has too much of an American soul. Some people like to believe that “American” is all that is good an pure, but there is a very dark side of “American Soul”

“If state or local prosecutors are able to engage in politically motivated prosecutions of Presidents of the United States (former or current) for personal acts, this could have a profound impact on how Presidents choose to exercise their powers while in office,”

That’s right Jimbo. Presidents would have to think twice before choosing to break the law. The only way “political motivation” enters the picture is that Trump hides behind politics. Do you really think he has an altruistic motivation to run?

Netanyahu i way smarter, he will pull it off.

If they start being nice to him, maybe Soros will pick up the tab!

Thanks.

On the positive side the shooter was a woman… we are becoming a more inclusive society, school shootings are not the privilege of white males any more.

Jordan graduated from a bottom of the third tier law school and has never taken/passed(?) the bar. He belongs as the chair of a rethug Judiciary Committee.
