As 2021 was winding down, the Jan. 6 Committee asked Rep. Jim Jordan to voluntarily cooperate by providing it with information. Now it has Jordan’s unsurprising response: Nope.
Manchin, just like his republican soulmates, seems to take great delight in engaging in bad faith ‘negotiations’. His move toward irrelevance continues on pace, the only question being will he be able to see the destruction of our democracy before he gets there.
Unfortunately, Jim Jordan’s constituency wouldn’t want him to cooperate with this investigation so, why should he? If doing the wrong thing is what get’s people elected then expect these elected officials to act exactly the way they’re acting.
It’s past time for Congress to use its inherent power of Contempt. Lock Jorden in the Capitol basement with the hunchback; or lock him in the local Pound. Treat him like a real court and lock him up untill he agrees to testify truthfully. He has the keys to his own freedom- just testify truthfully.
Subpoena Jordan’s ass and if he stonewalls, file criminal contempt charges. NMNQ
(And if/when he does testify, do it in a private hearing…the last thing the Dems need is this clown spewing more conspiracy theories on the TeeVee machine and generating made-to-order video clips for Faux Snooze.
I guess it’s time to tell America what Jordan and the previous guy in the White House talked about. Then Jordan will blab (already has?) "He wanted to be a part of the committee so that the “facts would be known.”
Then whoops, there goes privilege, again! I’m sure an allied agency will lend a cell to deal with Jordan’s contempt for the House, if he doesn’t at least show to try to claim privilege.
Rep. Scott Perry, the first lawmaker to be asked to answer questions from the investigation of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, said he would refuse to cooperate with the committee.
Perry made public his refusal to cooperate 20 days ago. 20 days ago. This committee has acknowledged they are under duress as to the time they have to investigate the insurrection. 20 days have passed and no subpoena issued to Perry. And once one is issued it will need litigated.
