A lot of things happened. Here are some of the things. This is TPM’s Morning Memo.
Rep. Jim Jordan’s supposed “whistleblowers” who were going to expose the FBI’s role in various Deep State conspiracies have turned out to be as bogus as his so-called investigations:
The Mississippi Senate has passed a bill that will stop electric car companies from opening their own dealerships in the state, ensuring that the state famous for being last place in many rankings of all 50 states remains there.
“Instead, the trio appears to be a group of aggrieved former F.B.I. officials who have trafficked in right-wing conspiracy theories, including about the Jan. 6, 2021, attack at the Capitol, and received financial support from a top ally of former President Donald J. Trump.”
The three witnesses in question, per the report, are “George Hill, a retired F.B.I. supervisory intelligence analyst from the bureau’s Boston field office; Stephen Friend, a former special agent who worked in the Daytona Beach office; and Garret O’Boyle, a special agent from the field office in Wichita, Kan., who has been suspended.”
They have promoted conspiracy theories; Hill wrote on Twitter that the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol was a “set up.” Meanwhile, O’Boyle and Friend have admitted to receiving financial aid from Kash Patel, a former aide to Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) and Trump associate who has testified in the Mar-a-Lago classified documents case.
“These leftists who are causing us to cower in fear in our homes…”
I know right?! Black people and gay people and women having rights is so damn terrifying. Don’t go outside!!
Fucking snowflakes, all of them. Pathetic. Also I would really like it if, I dunno, the major media outlets started calling out the Perrys and MTGs who have just been openly advocating for civil war. This is beyond “heated rhetoric” at this point.
CNN: Jim Jordan’s first FBI whistleblowers face scrutiny from skeptical Democrats
Framing it as “skeptical democrats” is a nice little bothsides there, CNN.
Gabriel Sterling, the chief operating operating officer of the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office, slammed Georgia congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene after she tried to push a false claim about dead voters in the 2020 election and insisted that former president Trump won the state during an election integrity meeting on Tuesday.
“We started the meeting. She came in late. She purposely sat next to me because she wanted to get her social media hits. And then as soon as she was done, she left,” Sterling told Anderson Cooper during a Wednesday appearance on CNN. “You know what we did? We learned about the hard work of talking about how we really fix elections.”
