Jenna Ellis Takes Plea Deal In Georgia RICO Case - TPM – Talking Points Memo

“If I knew then what I know now, I would have declined to represent Donald Trump,” Ellis said.

What she knows now that she didn’t know then is that they would get caught.

I wonder how many of the plea deals we’re seeing are at least in part due to Georgia’s “first time offender, wipe the slate clean” law.

Also: IIRC, FatAss refused to help pay her legal bills and she’s not so besotted with him to not smell a financial burden that would follow her for a long time (when you’re just a little fish, the MAGAts aren’t so interested in sending their $$ to you).

Not brought up to question authority.

It will be interesting to see what happens now that she is partially out of the bubble.

Indeed. Meanwhile, Rudy is frantically searching online for waterproof hair dye.

With Ellis, I think that leaves 14 or 15 remaining defendants, not counting the Orange Asshole (and draft dodger). My guess is that you’ll see at least 2 a week from now on. If I’m correct, Trump will be the only one left by, say, December 15th. Somehow, I don’t think it will be a very merry Xmas for Trump and Melania and the pond scum kids.

I wish the writers would spell this out in better detail.
It’s my understanding that in order to get plea bargain, they would have to give private “proffer” that would answer any questions in detail and under oath. If they go back on this, if they renege in any way while testifying in court, then they are either committing perjury in court or they perjured themselves in order to get plea agreement . Either way, their lenient deal would be revoked.

Is this accurate? Because otherwise, their pledge to testify truthfully is a bad joke.

Nope. Not an Oscar-worthy performance. Not even a RAZZIE worthy performance…

In some states being guilty of a felony (Ellis’ plea is a felony), is an automatic kick out of the profession, but not in CO where she’s based. The question has to go before a panel.

Wouldn’t they have better luck filing these things in TX with Matthew Kacsmaryk?

Iam just surprised we haven’t seen a flood of the GA players trying to get a plea at this point, why go to jail when the top name people are getting no jail plea deals.

Well, it all depends on the state. Where I’m licensed, a felony means interim suspension pending resolution of the disciplinary process, and since she already has a disciplinary record, her chances of losing her license are greater than if it was their first time seeing her. Seems like this goes right to the heart of the integrity of the profession, so I’d imagine this is only one step below felonious conduct involving sexcrimes or something resulting in bodily injury or death.

Oh yes! I’ve been saying this for months. This whole bunch of TFG’s petty consiglieres have the same level of maturity as some 15 yr old. And, they were having fun. Not now. Party’s over.

I think he’d love to get thrown in jail for a few days. He’ll have SS protection so how bad will it be?

Ellis: “If I knew then what I know now, I would have declined to represent Donald Trump,” Had she subscribed to TPM in 2014 or so, she would have known it all back then. Do they not teach reading in law schools these days? At the U of Richmond Law, apparently not.
