Won’t happen. Taking away the people’s right to vote for the president of their choice would be hugely unpopular, not to mention possibly unconstitutional under state and federal law.

which is why they’re trying this out in several “swing” states.
Besides originally the state legislatures did elect the electors. So going all the way back to method will jive if/ when it goes to the SC with the “originalists” sitting on the bench.
And yes, yes we fight about it, and the courts will be involved, but there is talk of how this gets back to where we once belonged.
