The select committee to investigate the January 6 insurrection will hold its first hearing on Tuesday, July 27.
From the article:
[" âI havenât made a decision yet, even to appoint,â McCarthy said during a Tuesday interview on Fox News. 'Iâm discussing it with my members. I have a real concern, the scope of what weâre looking at.
âNow we have Nancy Pelosi pretty much playing politics with this,â he added. âPutting Adam Schiff and Raskin on it looks more like an impeachment committee than one that wants to get to the bottom of the questions that are still out there.â "]
Qevin is getting Queezy, as he is Quite Qomplicit.
âNow we have Nancy Pelosi pretty much playing politics with this,â he added. âPutting Adam Schiff and Raskin on it looks more like an impeachment committee than one that wants to get to the bottom of the questions that are still out there.â
Yeah Mitch. We are sure that is how it will go.
Shut up Mitch, your time is done.
Hey Qevin, we donât care if you donât pick even one person for the committee. Qevinâs refusal to govern is no roadblock. Personally, I think the Capitol Police should have a little input into acceptance of members appointed to the committee. Rep. Cheney ÂŽ is already on the committee. The committee, thus, is by definition, bipartisan. The saboteurs that Qevin would appoint can watch the facts emerge on TV.
1/6 hearings could be the surprise TV show hit of the summer. The Watergate hearings certainly were and those hearings were boring in comparison. During Watergate hearings, there were were no reverse angles and instant replay of the insurrection upon our republic playing on the TV screens in the hearing rooms. Perhaps if the âbig lieâ wasnât hoisted up the flag pole daily by top national Republican leaders, this wouldnât be as necessary.
Qevin seems more intent on critiquing Pelosiâa choices, and thereby discrediting or hobbling the investigation, than on choosing members of his caucus for the job.
Insulting McCarthy is not a very difficult task. Sometimes silence is all thatâs neededâŚ
âNow we have Nancy Pelosi pretty much playing politics with this,â McCarthy added. âPutting Adam Schiff and Raskin on it looks more like an impeachment committee than one that wants to get to the bottom of the questions that are still out there.â
Yeah, right.
Schiff is an accomplished attorney and former federal prosecutor, experienced in investigations. Also, a serious member of Congress and expert on national security and foreign policy issues. Raskin was editor of the Harvard Law Review, graduating magna cum laude, a former Constitutional law professor, and serious member of Congress.
Who you gonna match them with, Kevin? Gaetz, Jordan, and Gomert?
OT
Republican Rep. Liz Cheney had a strong admonition for Qevin McQarthy: any Republican still challenging the legitimacy of the 2020 election results or whitewashing the January 6 insurrection is not fit to serve on the select committee investigating it.
âItâs very important that we have members who are committed to upholding the rule of law and members who are committed to their oaths to the Constitution,â Cheney said to CNN in her first interview since becoming the only Republican named to the select panel by Democrats. âAnd I would certainly hope that the minority leader will be guided by that as he makes his choices.â

Iâm surprised Jared was smart enough to think of this. Iâm betting Jared was just so incompetent that he never could accomplish what Trump told him to do.
McCarthy said during a Tuesday interview on Fox News. âIâm discussing it with my members. I have a real concern, the scope of what weâre looking at."
Meaning itâs likely to implicate McCarthy and a slew of his members.
Qevin would love to do that, the usual strategy of drowning out competence with noise. Pelosi wonât have it.
Even Jared is making excuses about how he was mitigating the damage? They fear something big emerging. It would be awfully convenient if TFG would just slip into a coma or something.
My thoughts exactly. The GOP insurrection caucus is afraid they will be exposed. Bet on it, losers.
Thatâs totally unfair, not sharing some of the crazy commands with us.
Oh, Kevin! Fuck you! They donât need your sorry ass or any of your lame-ass, insurrectionist-supporting choices. You and the GQP got served on this one, beotch.
I truly believe the GQP is really frightened of the testimony from the police officers, and I donât believe that their idiot members M.T. Greene and Matt Gaetz and Lauren Boebert and Jim Jordan trying to denigrate these cops in front of the American public is going to pay big dividends for them, except to the basest of their crazy MAGA/QAnoner base.
And I also believe that their âmartyrâ Ashleigh Babbitt isnât going to come out of this looking like the hallowed saint they are trying to turn her into.
âI have a real concern, the scope of what weâre looking at.â
Oh, you mean the scope of that FUCKING INSURRECTION, ASSHOLE?!!!
Quite the Quornundrum for that Quazy Quacker!
I wonder how many officers have signalled their interest to testify? Hopefully they get a good cross section that can speak to how the violence escalated quickly and just how apparent it was that all those officers had been endangered by TFG.
