I understand McCarthy’s hesitation. When the former guy fomented the January 6 insurrection by calling his people to flood the Capitol on that particular day, and a majority of the GOP House members supported not recognizing the certified ejection results, the hearings will make them look real
bad.

I do too, but in a post I wrote about 10 days ago about not having any Republicans at all on the Select Committee, it’s a really bad decision for Qev to not to put any Republicans on the committee. It means all the questions will come from Democrats + Cheney, with no chance for the Republicans to distract or rebut.

I really hope he doesn’t appoint any, though. Please, please, please…

Hmmmm. Thank’s for the idea Q’evin. There us nothing that prevents the Congress from impeaching someone no longer in office. It’s not moot because they can be barred from future office.

So if Trump stands revealed as organising this event in order to remain in office by force he should be criminally charged and impeached both.
