A Year Later, Some Republicans Second-Guess Boycotting the Jan. 6 Panel

Mostly in private, Republicans loyal to Mr. Trump have complained for months that they have no insight into the inner workings of the committee as it has issued dozens of subpoenas and conducted interviews behind closed doors with hundreds of witnesses.

But the public display this month of what the panel has learned — including damning evidence against Mr. Trump and his allies — left some Republicans wishing more vocally that Mr. Trump had strong defenders on the panel to try to counter the evidence its investigators dig up.

Nothing affirms the J6 Committee’s success more than Repuglican regret.

I applaud both that success as well as Repuglican angst and await further revelations in the full expectation the Committee will amply supply them as Repug leadership desperately hurls chaff while accusing each other of stupidity.

In ordinary times this might make me less than a good person I suppose but these times are not ordinary; YMMD

Reduce it over low heat. It makes a sweet red reduction that’s great on crepes or ice cream.

Qevin McQarthy is never gonna be Speaker. Even assuming the GQP gets the House back. Which may take longer than they have believed until a couple of weeks ago…

Color me chortling.

(Dog bless idiocy and shortsightedness. Qevin’s “I’ll take my members and go home, so there” is, I think, the poster child incident for “cut off your nose to spite your face”…)

Anybody running a pool on whether or not Ginni Thomas actually appears before the Committee?

And also, if she does appear, how many times she pleads the 5th?

ETA: I sure hope we see the first of the video evidence from the documentary dude. And if we have to wait a while for them to splice it in for today’s hearing, I can live with that. Ooooh, gotta check my popcorn supply!
