The Trump campaign coordinated efforts to persuade Republican state lawmakers to send fake slates of electors to Congress on Jan. 6, the the Jan. 6 Committee said on Tuesday.
For those of us old enough to remember the Senate Watergate hearings, the funniest part was the âstonewallingâ of âI canât recallâ. âI canât recallâ for about a year was a favorite comic punch line.
I have a feeling that televised 1-6-2020 hearings will do the same for âI refuse to answer because it could incriminate meâ.
The subpoenas also went out to Pennsylvania state senator Doug Mastriano (R), who spoke with Trump before Jan. 6 and attended the rally that day,
Oh, excellent. This mofo really needs to go down.
Roman was part of what the panel described as a âcoordinated strategyâ from the Trump campaign to contact state-level Republican lawmakers. The Trump campaign, the panel said, âurge[d] them to âreclaimâ their authority by sending an alternate slate of electors that would support former President Trump.â
And the ringleaders of this strategy were Jeffrey Clark and John Eastman. Not a coincidence theyâre pleading the fifth.
