Well put!
The narrative could indeed use a “wine-dark sea” refrain, keeping front and center the ominous treachery and seditious conspiracy in the top ranks of the US government.

I thought the Dem hearings before Impeachment I were great, I thought the D presenters did great, and they did another fine job before and during Impeachment II. They have behaved, on the whole, wonderfully throughout the whole Chump ordeal. In the meantime, every R has covered themselves in shame and performative cowardice. The score on R v D being found guilty of crimes, rape, abuse, trafficking, crippling cowardice, and pandemic deaths is nearly 100 to 0 in the last decade. And that is before 1000s of Rs decided to commit election fraud, sedition, and a coup. I don’t know why that isn’t plain and obvious to the public, (looking at you, media, and lots of other factors) but there you have it.
However, I think Pelosi and whoever was advising her to go only for the two slender counts of Ukraine meddling was a BIG mistake and not impeaching Barr, and not basing many more counts of obstruction for Impeachment I were huge mistakes. Rs talked themselves into See No Evil mode on the very slim Ukraine charges. It is just possible that cracking open the Mueller discoveries and using the 10 Obstruction charges would have really crucified the R Senators and motivated the nation more.
I expect the Ds will do a wonderful job for the J6C hearings, and fear that it won’t matter much. It doesn’t matter how well the Ds do. Even historically, everything they did in the 30s and 40s and 60s was golden and the Rs have spent 60-70-80 years trying to tear it down and the truth and the obvious were lost long ago. I remember when we thought Dick Cheney was Darth Vader.
…donors…
Thanks, Cheney.
This has been another episode of “republicans did something bad and it’s the democrats’ fault”.
I do not feel like listing every American institution corrupted by money
…and, yes, the folks whose job it is to say that “it’s the Democrats’ fault” get money.
And besides, no one has the time or space to create such a list. The term “astronomical” comes to mind.
Thanks, pluckyinky. I needed to hear that.
ahh, but to do it well, that’s the trick!
That is a gross mischaracterization of what I said. I said that Ds behaved near 100% perfectly, Rs 100% the opposite of how decent officials and voters should behave, and somehow the Ds don’t get any credit for always being on the correct side of justice and history. Show me again where I said that Ds are responsible for Rs malfeasance?
I think it’s more a case of frustration at us collectively accepting the practice of elements of the Press who BothSides things.
There is an active pushback on that.
O’Donnell had a VERY good segment a little while back with some guests who correctly stated that elements of the Press need to get off the BothSides/GOP Normanization track.
And they were of the opinion that this was an existential problem.
Even some snark artists on this site are on to the MSM BothSides Bullshit:
“Biden works magic with the EU and NATO in strengthening the alliances…here’s how this is bad for the Democrats”
There is a chicken and egg scenario…is the public too distracted, busy, and stupid to absorb news objectively…or has the media through decades of saturation and corrupt intent conditioned the citizenry to be incapable of discernment.
That is why in my initial post I blamed the media along with other factors. The pessimism or hopelesness felt by many is not imaginary or self imposed. 1000s of crimes go unpunished even though they are committed in plain sight with cameras and reporters covering it. But I was not blaming anyone or trying to claim that Rs do bad things and it is Ds fault. Ds can do the right thing 100 times, Rs can do the wrong thing 100 times, and the overall effect is that Ds lose the clash, take the hit, and Rs keep moving unphased.
For one thing, the Dems have a bigger variation in their constituencies. The R’s do not. Their messaging is whatever revanchist screed they care to dig up.
We, on the other hand, need a more varied approach.
ONE of those approaches happens to be the J6 June Hearings
THE OTHERS must be tailored to each Democratic constituency handled by people with Jen Psaki’s savvy
I am on record saying the best things to happen for Ds during the Chump era were the televised hearings and impeachments. Ds behave and perform wonderfully, Rs show themselves to be the greatest cowards of all time and thoroughly corrupt, and the media cannot bothsider it or spin it…until the live hearing cameras go off and the media takes back over.
Right, I picture Jared being portrayed by more of a Sterling Holloway voice. Being of very little brain and all.
They are two of the very few Republicans in good standing. The rest of the cabal are traitorous assholes.

Harsh. I like it!
Make it very interesting, with lots of visuals and little, if any, testimony. Keep the audience’s attention. Have a strong narrative line. Make it very interesting!!!
So will it be on pay-per-coup?
We Dems are smart enough, we’re good enough, and doggone it, people like us.
