Jan. 6 Committee: New ‘Bombshell’ Revelations During Hearings

Days before the Jan. 6 Select Committee holds its first public hearing, member Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) and vice chair Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) on Sunday indicated the public will hear new revelations for the first time.

Donald under the tutelage of Fred has conducted his whole life as a con, or a conspiracy if you will.

Let us hope that the Nation’s survival is of more importance than raw power for power’s sake.

I will, a conspiracy of confidence ploys.

This is the kind of thing you ask for and you promise it can be Christmas and your birthday both. If the normies out there finally see what he was trying to do, what they were all trying to do, the committee will have done yeoman service for this country. It could be like the McCarthy hearings not just in discrediting one person but in showing the mindless, rabid, and recklessly destructive attitudes of the ones who follow him. And it would be about time.

What’s the frequency, Merrick?

This makes me nervous (from the Cheney interview)…

…the majority of Republicans across the country don’t want to see our system unravel…

According to the polls, the majority of Republicans absolutely DO want to see our system unravel. I get that she’s being a politician in this interview but I hope beyond hope that she and the other panelist understand that that the GOP writ large is now a fascist party that has no interest in democracy.

Well, I confess that what I have already learned since 2016 onward are can be characterized as bombshells! The problem is that bombshells of grotesque, illegal, immoral and unethical conduct and behavior have become “Ho-Hum” normal. Where is the outrage??

When Walther Rathenau was assassinated in 1922, Berlin shut down, with an estimated one million people gathering in the streets to protest. Americans, to be brutally honest, suck at political action.

I do hope these so called “bombshells” do make trump guilty as sin. And that this isn’t a lotta just fucking around. in the weeds.
I would make a shitty juror brcause in my heart and based on the evidence now available I think trump is guilty of sedition at the very least and really I believe he is guilty of treason. I do not say this lightly or in jest. I really to think he has contravened Article Three Section Three of the document he swore to preserve, protect and defend. Sedition for him would likely mean life in prison as he is already in his mid 70’s. 10 years is a long time for him.
So, J6 Committee…show us what ya got.

I don’t disagree with this at all, but any change in direction for this country really depends on shame having any value. Until people realize and accept what they’ve done, and until they realize and accept that those actions were wrong, and until they comprehend that their own actions placed the survival of this great nation in danger, i’m not convinced that any revelations unveiled by the J6 Committee will do a whole lot of good. The concept of shame sounds so simple, but that’s a core element that separates good from evil. Good people understand things that evil people do not. We’re dealing with a helluva lot of evil people in this country.

Yes, prepare for Trumpers to be proud of just how far Trump would go over the line for them.

They are lost to reality and to us.

No argument but by “normies” I mean the people who aren’t gun nuts, conspiracy nuts, who really aren’t nuts of any kind. They can be deluded a bit, but not that far. And I include a lot of Democratic voters who just don’t pay attention to politics much. The people who’ve been fueling the craziness, I don’t hold out much hope for them. We need to make them irrelevant and then watch them die off. That’s a slow business.

Unfortunately we have part of a media ecosystem, mainly Fox that will barely be covering the insurrection and coup attacks so roughly a third of the country won’t be hearing much about it or getting some distorted view of it.
If they were around to cover Watergate they would have Frank Sturgis doing studio recreations of the burglary and blaming the security officer Frank Wills for merely doing his job.

Is she making a distinction between Republicans and the GOP? The gop is now a fascist party, but I don’t think all Republicans are fascists.

The nightly FoxNews audience is about 1.4 million people.
That’s one half of one percent of the population.

The hardcore GQP base is about 14 million people.
That’s about five percent of the population.

Fox May top the ratings, but less than 3 million watch it.

That’s why I said right wing media ecosystem because a fair amount it emanates from Fox.

Pumping “Bombshell Revelations” is for the tabloids, not the courts. They should take their job seriously, building a case and referring the coup plotters to the courts.
