The Cruelty Remains The Point
On the same day at the Supreme Court ruled against gender-affirming care for transgender youth, the Trump administration said it was ending specialized support for LGBTQ callers to the national suicide prevention hotline.
Impeachment (conviction) is a mathematical impossibility in the minoritarian Senate. It may have been a reasonable outcome when there were 13 states, but as the country expanded, the Senate effectively represents land, which does not vote, but underrepresents people. It’s just math. It’s just a meaningless alternative, and constitutional reform is tethered to the same math. There has to be another way, but talking about impeachment is pointless.
