It's Clearer Than Ever That Jan. 6 Wasn't The End But The Beginning

When I graduated with a BS Degree in Chemistry in June 1981, it took me 6 months to find a decent job, though only as a technician.

The height of Reagan’s recession. Got $10 an hour and stayed for 26 years.

It’s funny, when the 401K first came out, like 1984, my boss said to stay out of it because it will take so long to get your money. Dad said do it. The company matching is giving you free money. I think I took home like $10 a month less.

Got a nice promotion and raise in 1992 and immediately maxxed it to the 16%. Has made my retirement affordable.

…because Bibi the Barbarian has managed to outbid Putin…for now…

Both of those kkklowns were the ones with the strongest arguments that they have Russian connections or even loyalties. If this fucking imbecile is trying to triangulate Bibi and Putin to get the best deal he can for his own self-enrichment, he’s playing with fission.

His “Tier 1” functionaries of Vance, Rubio, Caine and Ratliffe instill little confidence in this one. Vance, Rubio and Ratliffe need no introduction. Their reputation (or lack of) precedes them. Caine was a reservist for most of his career so he’s the “one-eyed King” by default.

My cousin Mark worked for 38 years at Bell Labs later Lucent. His 401K could only be invested in Lucent Stock which Carly Fiorina tanked as she drove Lucent into the ground.

His 401K wound up being…a .401K thanks to Golden Parachute Fiorina

Yeah, well, Israel is finding out that their Iron Dome isn’t doing so well - and they’re running out of the missiles anyway, which is obvious.

But I didn’t find on my first search any MSM either US or EU reporting on it yet.

Every SpaceX failure brings Elmo one step closer to a totality of losing.

Maybe they can rebuild it by recycling parts from all the unsold Teslas.

This ought to keep King Elon occupied for a while. After I saw the shorter clip on Bluesky last night, I stayed up waaaay too late watching the longer video, fascinated by how freaked out the trainspotters were. At one point, a flock of birds is silhouetted against the flames and smoke, and I keep thinking about how much damage this must have done to a very important environment for bird migration and for other wildlife.

It’s wild hearing the nerd jokes and jolly speculation about how soon the next Spaceship launch would occur – they thought it might happen at the end of the month, and after one said everything looked great, another said “Famous last words,” which turned out to be prophetic. KABOOM, at about 2 hours in. They seemed to think this was going to be devastating to the future of SpaceX.

This is so pathetic. Bibi double crossed Donnie, and Donnie is still stuck on kissing up to the lying cheating Netanyahu. Donnie might have been close to fixing the mess he made in Trump 1 when he trashed the treaty that Obama got done that did the job, because Bibi sweet talked the Pathetic Little Boy into getting out of the sensible approach to Iran. Donnie almost had the bragging rights to a “deal” that would have avoided Bibi finally dragging the US into another MidEast war. But Trump has absolutely NO power to resist being flattered and led by anyone who manipulates him. Why would any sane person believe anything coming out of this Israeli government??? They have/are lying constantly about what they are doing in Gaza. Trump is nothing but a Chump.

I recall a conversation where were I made the case that honesty or even factual adherence were not an aspect of intelligence, but human values. The fact that these systems can be tweaked to provided distorted results seems like confirmation of this to me. If honestly and adherence to facts were intrinsic aspects of intelligence Musk couldn’t manipulate his system to deliver his preferred message. What we have are either efficient emulators of human behaviors, or intelligent slaves slaves that cannot deviate from their actual masters whim.

Shorter Trump…

Turns out i’m going to die one day, while others still live… this angers me

Or, he’s so gone that because the word “best” is in there it must be good

Also remember, Biden was Against Cancer

Musk really wants this to work, he thinks he’s saving humanity (if you’re White enough) so this wasn’t a distraction. There appear to be multiple problems with Starship second stage that point to basic design flaws, like maybe the unconventional use of stainless steel which might cause vibration problems, or the use of methane fuel. Or just rushing to production and flight tests faster than traditional space projects.

In addition to everything else, this thing is supposed to be human flight rated at some point, with no abort capability, so it has to work perfectly on every flight. I don’t foresee this working without backing up and redesigning the whole damn thing from scratch.
