Intel Community Warns Of ‘Emboldening Impact’ Of Jan. 6 On Domestic Terrorists | Talking Points Memo

The Jan. 6 assault on the U.S. Capitol and the lies about election fraud that preceeded it may embolden and “spur” violent extremists to launch attacks in 2021, the intelligence community said in a report released on Wednesday.

I suppose the report is something the GQP will begin the drumbeat of discrediting in the next 15 minutes.

Why are they so afraid to talk about Domestic Terrorists? Is it because the subject too close for comfort to their base? Like their base’s relatives? Like their own supporters?

”Trump Determined To Strike in US.”

So I guess we’ll be rounding up Christians, spying on churches, and waterboarding Republicans?

(Guantanamo is still a thing, right?)

Nah, the shooter just had a bad day. Anyway, the return of mass shootings shows that the country is getting back to normal after the pandemic.

DUH… for this we have the FBI, the GOP especially in the senate, the attourneys general for Trump, and of course Trump himself. Peripherally, IMO, we also have Obama and his lack of action to thank for this.

Wonder what a few convictions / lengthy prison terms for sedition will do to their emboldeness?

“The report, compiled by the Director of National Intelligence, Department of Homeland Security, and Department of Justice, confirms what many already suspected to be the case: that domestic extremists motivated by racism or the myth that election fraud was rampant in 2020 are continuing to plot potentially lethal attacks.”

My question is what are the recommendations to deter officials to include U.S. Senators who pander to racism or help further myth’s of election fraud that cause these situations especially in light of their oaths of office to protect and defend the constitution.

So long as their is no criminal penalty and the only remedy is political, this will not stop.

Where does domestic terrorism end and vote suppression begin? Some examples of vote suppression techniques include: cops conducting involuntary vehicle “safety checks” on roads leading to polling places, overenforcing traffic law on election day, misinforming people that registering to vote while having an unpaid parking fine is a felony, lynching, slapping seven year sentences on on parolees who mistakenly vote after being misinformed by authorities that it was permitted, setting fire to ballot drop boxes, I could go on.

" ‘Emboldening Impact’ Statements on Jan 6th.

““Even though those thousands of people that were marching to the Capitol were trying to pressure people like me to vote the way they wanted me to vote, I knew those were people that love this country, that truly respect law enforcement, would never do anything to break the law, and so I wasn’t concerned,” Johnson (R-Wis.) said in an interview on conservative radio host Joe Pag’s show Thursday.”

That’s why they need to throw the book at the ones who were involved with 1/6, starting with the congress critters. Boobert should be in shackles and orange jumpsuit right now.

I think they may be missing something. After reading many of the militia and supporting blogs and websites I’m betting that on top of random attacks we see something like a Mueller Refuge takeover but of a whole town. The major blogs, militias, supporters and religious figures are narrowing in on the same messaging of local control, winning local elections and then nullification of things they don’t like. I’m willing to bet if they can win the city council of some probably small pacific NW town, they’re gonna refuse to follow any Fed laws they don’t like and disingenuously compare themselves to “sanctuary cites”. I think their idea is if they can pick a fight where they can have a standoff like that, they feel the feds only response is to attack a whole town where they can be the ‘ultimate victim’, wait them out and they can claim the feds are ‘blockading small town America’, or let them do whatever they want and they can claim victory.

"The system is blinking red…AGAIN!!"

In 1999, 2000, and 2001 the threat was from Al-Qaeda, from Arabic literally meaning "the base."
In 2020 and 2021 the threat was from and included supporters of “the base” of the Former Occupant.
