There’s the rub. Meth is pure evil. Fentanyl may kill a lot more folks, but nothing except alcohol has ruined more lives, or ruined them as thoroughly. The world would have been better off if Walter White had died in the first episode. And not just the fictional world; that PoS had viewers rooting for him. That’s sick.
Speaking of pure evil. A 60-year-old man has also been arrested in the cutting down of the Sycamore Gap tree on Hadrian’s Wall. It appears to have been a TikTok stunt to gain notoriety. It highlights the danger of having to live with people who have no sense of place in the natural world.

I’m glad you posted it. I love period Americana photos like this, and not just because of the subjects. One wonders when seeing a photo like this, however, how their lives played out. Can you tell us a bit more about the picture and if we know who the skaters are? I literally don’t know who I’m looking at.

This is good reporting. I have a feeling more damning detials will emerge showing the depths of Menendez corruption. All the Democrats should be calling for his resignation. The fact that the military stipend to Egypt (in perpetuity?) can be manipulated by an individual and used for personal financial gain is troubling to say the least.

This is atrocious. like the Taliban demolishing those ancient statues some years ago, but even more senseless if that’s possible. Maybe they can make lots of cuttings and grow the seed to try and make something positive of this, but it will never be the same.

Apparently I had a very different take on Breaking Bad and its meaning. It was fiction, it was well acted by an accomplished actor in the lead, but unless meth took off with more people using it than before the series started then it’s best to remember it was fictional, well written and acted and yes, I was rooting for WW to survive this ordeal. Mygawd, it’s TV not real life, in the same way Ahnold killing and crushing people with the audience loving it is fiction. It was a program for grownups, not for wimps who prefer daisies and buttercups as the motif.
