If you’re not familiar with April Corley and her skating talent, she is one of the skaters in this Chet Faker video. It is, IMHO, a masterpiece of the form. And having the skaters playing the role of the three muses is a great image. April is the skater in green. The attack in Egypt was a terrible tragedy. She was badly injured and her boyfriend was killed. That Menendez’s greed and corruptibility played a role in preventing her from gaining some measure of justice makes me hate him even more.

I had at first thought the counterintelligence angle was the most damning thing about this case (the fact that he had given the Egyptian government a list of personal information about local national hires at the US embassy in Cairo, thus either putting them at risk or facilitating their being pressured to become informers).

But no – shitting on two US citizens seeking justice from Egypt. Menendez kicked them to the curb.

He needs to be expelled from the Senate forthwith.

I looked to see if Menendez should have know the “why” of the hold on the money. Yes Bob became a US Senator in 2006, thus he should have been aware of what was happening with April Corley, and the Egyptian’s game of going after personnel of NGOs operating in Egypt.
And his actions benefitted only him, and not the country.

The Senate conditioned a portion of the $300 million hold partly on resolution of the case, before Trump officials released those monies in August 2018.

NJ Senator take bribe…more non-news at 10.

The fact that he took bribes to favor Egypt over an American gunned down by their military raises to about an inch short of treason, and may even cross that line for me anyway … if more comes out.

He needs to go. He needs to be prosecuted to the very limit of the laws. The fact that he’s a dem and the right wing treason caucus is gonna get away with armed insurrection is a separate issue.

Menendez today: well, only one California Senator has called for my resignation, so I got that going for me…
