Last night, my wife and i celebrated with a bottle of 2009 Zinfandel from Dry Creek Vineyards. That was a great year. (Obama was elected to his 1st term!). We’ve had it in storage since that year, just waiting for an appropriate opportunity to pop the cork. We were actually worried that we’d waited too long, but nope! The wine was AMAZING!!! We finished the whole bottle. I want more!
We finished the last of our old keepers a few weeks ago
DAMN! I just looked at what i wrote in your reply, and realized i had it wrong. Dry Creek, yes, but it was the Preston of Dry Creek Vineyard, and not Dry Creek on its own. We missed the Rafanelli Vineyard on our trip back in '04. Only 3 days driving (a rented Mini Cooper) and we managed to hit 9 total vineyards. Not that many, but we’re anxious to do it again. It will be interesting to see how much of Dry Creek is left after the fires and mud slides. Were your old keepers from Rafanelli pretty good? Those were older than ours was.
Mostly said it in jest but glad I got a rise out of you. Had to take a break from the comments while a couple of tornadoes split their paths around us.
I’m not worried about the climate refugees. Most will stop before they get to Iowa or look for something more interesting like Canada. On the time frame for when things get really bad I will probably be dead.
The Anomie Party would have been a much better name for the No Labels Party than No Labels. No Labels sounds like they stand for nothing. A bit too on the nose.
