Am I the only one who longs for the days when the republicans were in charge and stuck to easy legislation like tax cuts for the rich and military spending for endless wars?

‘Republicans can risk voting against the bill because they’re confident Democrats won’t let the country default on its debt.’ The flip side of course, is showing the Republicans up as the hypocritical aholes they ARE for voting to raise the debt ceiling during the Trump years and adding trillions to the debt…and those trillions did NOT go to the middle class.

Or, you know, point out that the debt ceiling violates the Fourteenth Amendment and ignore the damned thing.

And I would say DITTO! to rhe filibuster and the all-powerful “parliamentarian.”
Time for them to go.

The parliamentarian’s just the referee assigned to make sure the Senate follows the rules the Senate set down. ‘Kill the ump’ is never a good idea.

I wasn’t talking about executing her. Either ignoring, or formally changing the rules that they establish themselves.

I do not understand the pervasive use of “Republicans will not help.” They don’t fucking have to help. All they have to do is not filibuster.

So is anyone really surprised?

The parliamentarian can already be overruled, so their power is not at all absolute.

This is what messaging looks like:

And I have never seen anything like this come from the Dems along with all going along with it in lockstep.

The optics of this are genuine. This is down to the core of the issue and no one in receipt of this handout will waver even a scintilla.

Dems march to their individual wants and needs. The GQP march to McConnell, Qevin and TFG’s wants and needs. And that’s how the GQP will always govern and how they will always be.

I don’t know why these thugs can’t be sued to replace what they broke.

You break it, you bought it is a standard that should be used.
