Would love to see this advertising campaign by the Dems or by the States.
The States have the most to lose in lost tourism dollars, which were terribly short last year due to shutdown.

The bipartisanship sailed, or was sold, to the highest bidder.
So there were 3 or 4 variants of Democrats in Disarray articles in my news aggregator this morning. Here is the Politico headline
I made myself read the entire article, in which they interview a bunch of so-called âcentristâ Democrats you have never heard of. The Trump era made me forget how much I hate the conventional wisdom mongers and the so-called politics reporters who just serve as stenographers for the power brokers in DC. Here is a paragraph from this glistening turd of a story:
But Democrats close to the centrists say progressives are vastly overplaying their hand. A group of five to 10 House moderates have signaled to leadership that they would be willing to let the infrastructure bill fail rather than be held hostage by liberals over the broader spending bill. Itâs a more attractive alternative to them than having to vote for painful tax increases to pay for an unrestrained social safety net expansion, according to a person familiar with the discussions.
The dishonesty meter simply breaks when you try to analyze this kind of writing. âHeld hostageâ,âOver-playing their handâ, âhaving to vote for painful tax increasesâ (painful to whom?) and my personal favorite, âunrestrained social safety net expansionâ.
Just fucking shoot me.
These reporters have to make a living (their mentality)
I am not paying attention to the Performance Artist politicians
Or the chattering class.
Nobody said cleaning up 40 years of Republican malfeasance along with the disasterous mess TFG left us with was going to be easy.
Buckle up buttercups.
âKill the umpâ just means taking your frustrations out on the referees.
How I lament these dark times when even the most basic of baseballisms go misunderstoodâŚ
Kev McCarthyâŚlow rent, no class, scum sucking bottomfeeder. NEVER for the country, always for himself.
Some guests on Rachel gave me a little encouragement, keeps me from going full catatonic.
I, for one, have been fearing implosion.
So, progressives and moderates are both posturing -it is part of the sausage making. Republicans were never going to vote for anything that actually helps their constituents. It is who they are. They donât care. Politico and other media need the Dems in disarray click bait but it does not get a rise out of Madam Speaker.
There is this from The Hill.
Republican Sen. John Kennedy, whose home state of Louisiana was hit hard by Hurricane Ida, says he will âprobablyâ vote for legislation that would fund the government, provide disaster relief and raise the federal debt limit.
I like it!!
Naw. It went down; all hands lost.
I read today few writeups on Punchbowl News and Politico about the Congress and thought the shorter version of them would be simply a demand, âDemocrats surrender this minute! The Wall Street might wobble tiny bit if you donât do it immediately! We canât have that! Surrender this minute!â. So Iâm with you on the dishonesty thing.
Thatâs white of him. ⌠what, too soon?
The real story, which should be top-line news everywhere in this country, is that the GQP is more than willing to risk government default and that they donât really want to solve any of the various crises facing this country. Fuck 'em, letâs do this without them.
And the rats scuttled it.
Money changes things apparently
I wonder if heâll sing his new âvaccines are badâ song.
Hear! hear!
Thank you. Parliamentary procedure is important, enough so that you have to have people certified in this complicated field, as it specifically related to the arcane rules and history of Congress.
Whenever chairing a committee of any size or importance, someone, at some time or another, is always bound to jump in and question a rule of order. While I always had Robertâs Rules of Order, or at least a âcheat sheetâ to refer to, but it is never a simple process.
There are always parliamentarians standing by, in both the House and Senate, ready to wade through the issues, and weigh in on the rules to follow.
Ted Cruz is gonna filibuster.
