A group of right-wing Republican legislators planned to take to the Idaho Capitol Building in an unprecedented special session, pass legislation ending the state’s COVID-19 public health orders, and triumph over a dictatorial governor who they say has exceeded his authority by attempting to steer the state away from a spike in pandemic-caused deaths.
About Idaho–Reminds me of a story about Austria that I think I read in a Bill Bryson book. Anyway, Bryson and friend were in Austria, and made friends with a couple of Germans. They went to a bar and had an uncomfortable encounter with some redneck Austrians. Later, one of their new friends said, “Austria is a beautiful country. Too bad it is full of fucking Austrians.”
You know, you can give most of the middle of the U.S. a pass because there is little in the way of natural beauty. But so much of Idaho from Boise north, is gorgeous.
Where are these idiots coming from? What allows otherwise semi-intelligent folks to start believing in these crazy conspiracy theories? If you stop to think for a nanosecond none of them even make sense.
Contact tracing “is the most unconstitutional thing I’ve ever seen or heard of in my life,” asserted Rep. Christy Zito, speculating that the state would separate parents from their children if they’d been exposed to COVID-19.
Um…yes. About this…I feel there’s something you oughta know…
