Beauty is in the eye of the bee holder.
Contact tracing “is the most unconstitutional thing I’ve ever seen or heard of in my life,” . . . speculating that the state would separate parents from their children if they’d been exposed to COVID-19.
“I truly believe a Civil War is coming if we do not put an end to what we’re seeing,” . . .
“The absence of freedom is fear, and that’s terrorism,” . . . “We’re being terrorized in our own country.”

“We could live under this tyranny for a full ‘nother year,” said Sarah Clendenon, a former Senate candidate and part of the anti-vaccine group Health Freedom Idaho, in a Facebook live video after the day’s festivities were over.
Exactly! So let’s take some action here so that we can live under tyranny for two years! That’ll show ‘em.
This lot failed well short of the Feldherrenhalle, too drunk to even find the way out of the beer hall.
Anyone starting to see a trend here?
Like, no one wants these doofuses in charge of so much as the opening of a paper bag?
A whimper of right wing protesters.
Other far-right groups will have a tough time topping this.
But I know they’ll try really hard.
The sad thing is every one of us knows who taught these people over the years how to think and talk in these absurd ways. Newt, Rush, Glenn, Sean, they’re household names. They’re not fringe characters.
I like the old LBJ line – “too dumb to pour piss out of a boot if the instructions were printed on the heel.”
They’re living in their own private Idaho…
“Dada Kabuki”
Of course they couldn’t get a quorum. They didn’t offer beer and brats.
I’m trying to follow this.
- The state is under attack by Covid-19.
- Because the state is under attack by Covid-19, we can call a special session.
- We called a special session to pass legislation to prevent the government from doing things to thwart the attack on our state by Covid-19, because we consider the state fighting Covid-19 to be an attack on our freedoms.
- This loss of freedom = fear = terrorism = the governor is a terrorist.
- We don’t have a quorum and we’re useless.
The creatures of the Right. What sweet whimpers they make. Count Dracula
“Legal analyses” from the libertarian group Idaho Freedom Foundation the Bundy-affiliated Freedom Man PAC had asserted that the legislators didn’t need the governor’s permission to call a special legislative session if the state was under “enemy attack.” The groups urged legislators to view the COVID-19 pandemic as such under state law, and exercise their authority to call a legislative session and limit the governor’s power.
Soooo…they wanted to declare the pandemic an “enemy attack” so that they could nullify the governor’s actions to protect the citizens from said attack. There’s nothing incoherent about that at all.
Perfect.
The only difference between Idaho and Wisconsin is that they had enough votes to overturn the order and a packed court to agree with them.
That pretty much nailed it (head sadly shaking).
I was making a little joke. We were going to catch Idaho on our way to Alaska (by car). We were going to dive up there with a very good friend and fly back. We both finally had 5 weeks of vacation by the 90s.
We were set to go the next summer… Then came the cancer diagnoses and we’ve never traveled anywhere again expect for treatment. Cancer has a way draining your savings, you hope, and making everything in your life go sideways really fast.
A whimper of wingnuts.
