Hoyer Will Press On With Floor Vote To Strip Greene Of Committees

A nice tasty ARREST will take her completely out of Congress.

new tpm rule: Mo Brooks must be first on all such lists

Yes that really is the wonderful thing about it. Do we think we can count on the 10 Republican votes we got for impeachment?

I’m not sure of this, bit I think that would require conviction of sedition in a regular court of law, which would be appealed to supreme court, of course, who will get right on it with all the alacrity of a garden slug approaching a salt lick.

Why on earth did McCarthy give her two plum committee assignments? He is a lousy manager./empty suit who wants to be Speaker of the House who cannot even do the hard work of benching Taylor-Greene. He is leaving the job to Hoyer.

McCarthy just met with members of Steering Committee — which decides committee assignments — and members left uncertain whether conference will strip Greene from her positions or let House do it tomorrow.

Asked if he knew where McCarthy stood, Rep. Jodey Arrington: “I don’t”

But…the mega donors are fleeing. I think things have gone too far for even Bill Koch. Probably not for the Mercers, however, but there’s no stopping their lunacy either. We’re stuck with that but if enough others bail, the 35(ish) million they’ve donated in the past fifteen years isn’t nearly enough. For anything.

Where do you get that? The 14th Sec. 3 only requires 2/3rds to remove the disability.

It will show who fears a primary challenge from the right and who doesn’t.

Today’s the day I could be removed from committees, or worse, expelled from Congress,” she wrote, asking for “emergency donations” in bold, colorful font.

I don’t understand how “emergency donations” are supposed to help her maintain her committee assignments or prevent her from getting expelled. What would help, though, is if she’d stop with the performative nonsense, for once, and start acting like a sober legislator acting on behalf of the needs of all Americans. But I know better than to hold my breath.

This is why McConnell is planning McCarthy’s demise. Stay tuned.

@pshah Her donation haul seems a bit thin to me. Last I read, she’d raised something like 100,000. That barely pays for a few days in court.

So far looks like they are only seeking to remove her from any committees. So this is not an expulsion attempt which the Senate would have no say in nor an impeachment where they would.

No it doesn’t, common misreading. The 14th amendment says it takes a 2/3s vote to re-qualify someone who has been excluded for insurrection.

I don’t know about that. Were sedition/treason trials held for all of the officers of the confederacy, or was that just assumed? (Or was there something else passed by congress that made them liable as a group?) [There’s also aid and comfort, but whatever the rules for determining that, I guess it would be the same. Albeit the payments for insurrection planning by trump’s campaign might well count, unless he specifically disavows the the campaign…]

Why would she?

She found them there. Under the desk or something.

It’s a miracle!

Plus which if we are applauding the idea that it would be faster to blow Kevin McCarthy’s brains out than try him for treason, they would be right to do to us what we are doing to her: You don’t get to applaud executing people extrajudicially.

Hoyer first rejected McCarthy’s proposal to put her on the Capitol Grounds Security Committee.

“Oh, you’d rather you were all embarrassed by her. We can do that!”

Because MTG has never threatened Lynne Cheney’s life, and because she wants to get back into the good graces of her caucus (the latter of which ain’t happening).
