Is it possible to be willingly duped?

Sure…then the sycophancy becomes more apparent, conspicuous and bought.

If Cannon had one iota of integrity she’d a recused herself on the first day. She plans to sandbag the prosecution a any way she can.

One thing I have painfully learned in my 74 years of life is this: personal honor is a very rare thing. People tend to lie if the truth hurts. As goes personal honor so goes credibility… sad to say. I held to the truth and it cost me a well paid job… but those who know me knew I had not lied. In 4 months I was recruited to a pretty much equal job in a related dept. in the med school where I worked. The grad students in my old lab all worked it out to be with me and I was honored by that loyalty.
Cannon needs to be careful. Trump ruins whatever he touches.

Assuming she has “integrity” and “ethics” right?

"Judge Cannon, we’ve demonstrated that defendant Trump’s statements to this court in seeking a Special Master’s review of the documents were, under the kindest interpretation, misleading, or seen in the context of the complaint in the current matter, outright lies. By doing so, he subjected you to public humiliation when your rulings were savaged by the Eleventh Circuit.

“You gonna make the same mistake again?”

It’s very charming that you think Trump Crime Family Operative A. Cannon gives two shits about any of this. Her job is to get Tiny Hands off. And she will. She knows there will never be sufficient GOP votes to convict her in the Senate so long as she protects their capo.

Lucky for us there are other venues for Smith.

Kovensky ‘s take is sharp. How well played Jack! I believe we are going to see that the trial will be simply all about trump not returning the docs. Judge Cannon will allow that. Bad boy! Guilty! All matters CIPA related get booted up the circuit to DC. In Florida, Trump will be found guilty by the end of August. He’ll try to escape. His plane will be shot down.

IANAL, but don’t litigants file motions to make the court “take judicial notice” of certain facts which must be handled in a prescribed manner. Seems like a way to assist an appeal?

That’s why she was given the job she has.

Brandon Van Grack indicates that DOJ will use this as a teaching moment for Judge Cannon

It will be difficult to schedule past handling the initial discovery schedule and hearing (known as a Section 4 hearing). But I do think DOJ will have a longer pretrial conference than usual to help explain the CIPA process/procedures to the Court and answer questions. https://t.co/uWkFVFwVcg

Hopefully now.
Before, she had the word of a widely victimized and unfairly reviled former president to rely on and, so, didn’t have to.

A 41 yr old inexperienced judge will need some tutoring to understand the natsec stuff. We can hope that she has mentors (other judges) who she will lean on. Somewhere I did read that judges talk to each other so let’s hope she has excellent clerks and good mentors.

She’ll be on the phone every evening to her handler at the Federalist Society.
