The judge overseeing the Mar-a-Lago documents prosecution of former President Donald Trump heard a dramatically different version of events last year — from Trump himself.

Such a fine line between dupe and stooge.

In order for the “she was duped” thing to work, Judge Cannon would have to have been asleep for the past 8 years…

Does anyone know if Judge Cannon has read the Presidential Records Act?

Why bother? Trump has already proclaimed what it says (and who would argue with such a big-brained stable genius?).

It will be interesting g to see how she plays it.

This probably has no legal validity whatever. But logically. Cannon accepted as facts in evidence statements by Trump in the civil case and ruled accordingly. Assuming the SC has evidence supporting the facts in evidence in the indictment, Cannon will need to accept those contradictory facts and in so doing accept that she was duped in the civil trial. That’s a conflict of interest… maybe not legally, but whether the evidence is formally introduced or not, she would need to acknowledge that the two sets of evidence cannot both be true. And by extension, she can’t believe a word Trump says. That’s not impartial.

Aileen Cannon: “Do you mean to tell me that Donald Trump lied? In my court? He’s dead to me now.”

I don’t know, man.

Aileen Cannon is both credulous and easily gulled.

She’s also a Trump Stooge.

I’m gonna go out on a limb, and say that this was the kind of thing that led to the resigantion of Trusty (and Rowley) from Trump’s defense team. Once it became clear that they had relayed lies to the court(s) on behalf of Trump, they had two choices — either report those lles to the court (and the government) or risk their own obstruction charges in the not so distant future…

“Why raid my home with a platoon of federal agents when I have voluntarily cooperated with your every request?”

Goddamn? Why would they do such a thing? What a mystery…

Those pesky things called “facts” that matter to ordinary folk have no real existence in trump’s universe. Nor do they for many rank n file republicans. Consequently what trump said in 2022 likely will have no bearing on anything he would say in June of 2023. Trump’s thoughts concern only the “now”… the immediate present. What happened an hour ago is forever lost.

Cannon’s initial lack of impartiality becomes a feature displaying perceived ignorance instead of advantageous sycophancy.

This woman’s lack of qualifications and experience for a case of this scope is astounding. Again, thank you, GOP, for putting another 40-something Federalist Society hack on the court. I am hoping that Jack Smith will intimidate the hell out of her.

Trump is our own King Ludwig of the Kingdom of Thumplandia or in his case Trumpistan.

There is an old saying - “Fool me once - shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me !” I know this runs against conventional wisdom, but if you think about all the harm Trump knowingly brought onto Judge Cannon’s reputation by he and his counsel’s lies to her, it is possible that he drew the WORST Judge in the Federal Judiciary for this trial.

Certainly, Judge Cannon could be excused for NOT believing anything Trump or his lawyers say in court for now until he is convicted and sentenced.

Judge Cannon is young and ambitious and knows that honor and credibility are the currency of the realm in the Judicial branch (not withstanding the charlatans on one side of today’s SCOTUS). Trump and his traitorous movement will be a memory within 5 years. Why give him any favors at this late date. He is, in the words of Bill Barr, “TOAST”.
