But doesn’t there have to be a $3-million slush fund laying around for him to ask that he get it?

I’m trying to be serious here. (not …lol)

Striking how similar Paxton’s spree of attacks on the people investigating him and Paul resembles Trump/Barr/Durham’s investigation into the investigators re: Russia and Trump. I’m still a bit unclear on what specifically triggered so many in the Texas GOP to turn on him. I struggle to believe that Paxton dug his way down to where they’ve buried their ethical standards, but maybe.

Under the august supreme court precedent set by ginni’s spouse when ruling on matters of interest to ginni, no.

And yet he needs Democrats to pass the thing. He also claimed 95% of Republicans support it. That 5% who don’t can gum up the works by introducing amendments that delay passage of the thing. Also, Leader Jeffries hasn’t talked to him since yesterday afternoon. Good lord.

Someone tell Trump that Republicans turning on Ken Paxton is a dry run for
them turning on him.

I think that’s precisely what happens when he loses in 2024. That election is huge for both him and Putin. Expect them to throw everything they have to “work” the outcome. I expect Biden will be ready for it.

Sure would be a hoot if, in true mob fashion, Paxton’s Texas State Senator wife Angela voted to convict.

Probably won’t happen but it sure would be a hoot.

Read somewhere he had the narrowest margins in Texas since 1976.

Less for her in a divorce settlement.

My theory is that Abbot sees the door opening for him making a 2024 run for the white house, so he’s cleaning up this home-state mess.

And Rs may gum up the works.

Vought signaling members like Roy and Massie may block the debt deal from coming to the floor (Rules decides what comes to the floor) https://t.co/SuXg1uORqc

It’s Texas. He was probably fixing high school football games, and that’s unforgiveable.

Any chance he’ll be convicted though? Articles I’ve seen seem to imply that’s unlikely and that his wife in the State Senate isn’t planning to recuse herself because why bother

I’ll bet the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence show up for that one. (they declined to accept the dodgers’ belated re-invite to Pride Day)

And Kevin, remember… Kamala out-ranks you.

“For over a thousand years, Roman conquerors returning from the wars enjoyed the honor of a triumph, a tumultuous parade. In the procession came trumpeters and musicians and strange animals from the conquered territories, together with carts lad with treasure and captured armaments. The conqueror rode in a triumphal chariot, the dazed prisoners walking in chains before him. Sometimes his children, robed in white, stood with him in the chariot or rode the trace horses. A slave stood behind the conqueror holding a golden crown, and whispering in his ear a warning: That all glory is fleeting.”
