How Ken Paxton Went From Teflon Ken To Being Impeached By His Own Party

To some men, a securities fraud indictment would be a reason to depart public service and to exit public life.

Wow… story filed at 7am on a Sunday of a 3-day weekend! I’m impressed. Also, I hope you get a day off sometime, Josh K!

Just goes to show, for Republicans you have to be over-the-top cartoonishly currupt to face any consequences at all.

“Pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered”

Ken Paxton got greedy, expecting his party to pay for his settlement from state funds.

Edited to add:
“We cannot overemphasize the fact that, but for Paxton’s own request for a taxpayer funded settlement over his wrongful conduct, Paxton would not be facing impeachment.”

Even a mob outfit knows when a loyal soldier has become a detriment. It’s business.

This is going to be fun, especially since Mrs. Angela Paxton is a state senator and she gets to sit on the jury.

especially since Mrs. Angela Paxton is a state senator and she gets to sit on the jury.

And especially since one of the accusations is that Paxton got Nate Paul to hire his mistress

If true wouldn’t she more accurately be described as a prostitute?

Nah, a prostitute arranges payment for sex.

What we have here is sex then hush money…

Totally different… :rofl::rofl::rofl:

Paxton-Paul make Thomas-Crow look like pikers.

BTW, Nate Paul any relation to Ron Paul?

If only the Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate could have the ethics and conscience to take similar actions within their ranks. Sigh…

According to SCOTUS though, would any of this be corruption?

Sounds like Paxton trying to get the legislature to pay his $3 million dollar penalty was the straw that broke the camel’s back. Or that, plus the personal shenanigans that were no doubt going on behind the
curtains. Paxton’s teflon wore away, and now the Texas GOP has to deal with a miniature Civil War.

Now do Trump.

Cartoonishly corrupt for almost a decade apparently.
