How Did Rudy Get Trump’s Velvet-Rope COVID Treatment? | Talking Points Memo

As I’ve said over and over, the problem is that these motherfuckers are surviving Covid. They get state-of-the-art treatment not available to 99.99995 of the population so that they can crow about “surviving” the disease and how we shouldn’t be “afraid of it” or “let it control” our lives.

If only the disease could take its course with this lot as it has for close to 300,000 or our fellow Americans. Then, I know, they would be changing their fucking tune.

This is really important. In asking whether the current occupant is using the power of his office to bypass ethics boards charged with fair distribution of scarce resources (of course he is), we swallow the big lie : that a cure exists at all.

I haven’t been able to find updated case fatality rates, although I know they have fallen as drs have learned more about this disease, but if we use the 1% CFR from early on the pandemic, three dudes is just not a big enough sample to determine if the therapy even works.

I mean he pulled this same shit with hydroxycloroquine and there were prominent people who swore it worked great

And let’s not forget, this guy would have been sent straight home from the ER here in Mesa with those kind of mild symptoms. He is taking a real sick person’s bed.

As a long time nurse, this makes me especially angry. Wish I could say it was the only time VIPs get special treatment, but that is much more the rule than the exception.

Bottom line: any public resource Trump can leverage and trade on for personal advantage he will.

Harborview was where the outbreak happened. It was not good. I think two people (patients) died.

It’s a rule: the guy with his boot on your neck gets to decide. January 20th can’t come soon enough. The boots and necks are going to trade places.

Just maybe these drugs should be given to medical workers and first responders who catch the Covid because they are dedicated to serving the public, not to a$$holes who defy public health responsibilities.
Just maybe.

This is really important. This WH lies about everything. I think it’s reasonable to assume that if it’s at all possible to cover things up - to hide diagnoses, to hide mild symptoms, to neglect to mention lingering fatigue - everything short of actually dying (even Herman Cain is tweeting from beyond the veil)- this WH will have done it.

So there’s no real way to know if they have paid a price for their belligerent obstruction of public health

It was Harborview. My friend’s sister used to work there until a few years ago. Can you imagine this is your first job in a hospital at this time?

I think it’d be odder if Trump did NOT use his position to help his friends, when everything up until this point shows us clearly that he would.

That’s the definition of bravery - when you know exactly how bad something will be and you do it anyway.

Say thank- you from this seatteite, who is staying home, masking and social distancing

“The minute I took the cocktail yesterday, I felt 100 percent better,” Giuliani said. “It works very quickly. Wow!”

Really? If that doesn’t sound like a placebo effect…

She is to be commended for going back. Several stories in the news about nursing and respiratory therapist shortages in WA state. We still have the ICU beds in Seattle but nurses are in short supply. It is scary.

She’s so young, knew her before she was born.
