House Republicans Weaponize Themselves With New Committee On Government Weaponization

Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA) had a question this past weekend.

Why should he be prevented from investigating a criminal investigation into him, using the power that he has in Congress?

“I would say this: The American people are really, really tired of the persecution and instruments of federal power being used against them.” Yeah, and start using them against their proper object: insurrectionists and vandals and liars, like Jim Jordan.

Representative Perry has a set of brass balls; in the wind, they clang together and play “Stormy Weather.” What an irredeemable piece of garbage he is. I hope he is finally prosecuted for his crimes.

“Stacey Plaskett (D. VI)”
So when did the Virgin Islands gain statehood?

Delegate Stacey Plaskett. D.C. and Puerto Rico get Delegates too. They don’t get to vote on the floor, but they do get Committee assignments and can even vote in committee and introduce or co-sponsor legislation.

ETA: Puerto Rico’s delegate is formally styled as a “Resident Commissioner,” but it’s the same thing. And there’s currently uncertainty as to whether the Cherokee Nation also gets to have a Delegate to Congress.

“Why should I be limited, why should anybody be limited, just because someone has made an accusation? Everybody in America is innocent until proven otherwise,” Perry told ABC News. “I would say this: The American people are really, really tired of the persecution and instruments of federal power being used against them.”

Actually, I think the real response is, “so, you’re in favor of dropping the investigation of Hunter Biden?”

And they are that stupid that they cannot see they’ve done precisely this.

It’s all grandstanding. It’s not even remotely close to governing.

And the media will treat this as the most important story of the year.

All your mistakes are hoaxes perpetrated by your enemies, all your crimes were ginned up by shadowy powerful authorities.

If the GOP were a person, they would be on meds to temper their paranoid schizophrenia. Sadly, it is not practical to medicate an entire criminal organization!

There are some nice pictures this morning of the remains of the Chinese surveillance balloon being lifted out of the Atlantic Ocean. The balloon story could now get even more interesting

I suspect the media at large is mostly going to ignore it unless there’s an especially high-profile witness. The whole thing is just for Fox News and social media clips.

Such a waste of time and resources. The last I heard Americans were very concerned about the price of eggs rather than what it sure to be a festival of RW talking points and grievances.

We’re not investigating Hunter Biden, we’re investigating why the investigators didn’t investigate him.

Imagine if prosecutors weren’t lackadaisically “investigating” Trump’s attempted coup and his incitement of the violent attack on the Capitol on January 6? These GQP traitors wouldn’t be able to abuse the powers of Congress to shipwreck DOJ. Instead, we see DOJ utterly uninterested in enforcing the rule of law in any kind of timely basis, and the House run by open traitors and criminals

Sigh.

She’s a delegate, not a Representative. The various territories have non-voting members in the house.
