Perhaps he was referring to the controversy that would have arisen when the auditor decided that tfg was misreporting, and tfg loudly tried to fire the auditor.
But really, the two reasons are just different words for the same thing: IRS management and staff were frightened.

Maybe they will, but financial disclosure by the president would never, should never, have been mandatory as long as we could have confidence that our leader was not an effing cheat and scoundrel. The former guy is arguably the most corrupt president in our history, and we should be shocked to the core. Whether the people who voted for him will ever be wise is the question, no matter what evidence is presented them.

We go along, enjoying what’s turned into a happy and content long time marriage and then something you couldn’t have predicted happens. It happened to me after a 50-year marriage two years ago and I’m still making my peace with it.
Talk to trusted friends and family, find a therapist if need be, but know that with enough time the pain eases a little bit more every day.
I send you my deepest condolences and best wishes for better new year.

Mnuchin’s predictable testimony, should be required to give it, will be that he kept the Commissioner of IRS, his direct report, at arm’s length and did not question any of the Commissioner’s practices.

I’m still mourning the loss of my husband two-plus years ago, and I’m feeling better reading TPMer’s comments and knowing we’re a compassionate bunch. Sweet memories indeed. Some days I burst out laughing thinking of something he said, other days I feel tears coming on because of something else he said. It’s a long strange trip.

Good that they didn’t do anti-drag campaigns in the late 16th, early 17th Century. Otherwise Shakespeare would have been screwed: No Romeo and Juliet. No women were allowed on stage back then, so female roles were done by a guy in drag.
