House Panel To Consider Contempt For Pompeo

“Consider”?

By now, either one has contempt for Pompeo or one does not.

Indeed, there’s more than enough familiarity to breed it.

The announcement did not set a date for when specifically it would take up a measure holding Pompeo in contempt, but it said that work on such a resolution is beginning.

FFS Democrats…Do you think that if it was a Dem SoS, Rethugs would dilly-dally about this? They will have you tarred and feathered faster than a New York minute!

JUST DO IT!

This is inexcusable…any documents given to the Senate should also go to the House if requested. Hiding behind some fig leaf in order to keep the documents out of the hands of Democrats is completely wrong, and likely shows that the documents are full of information that will be manipulated into a campaign attack on behalf of Trump. When people complain about how bad Trump is, they need to remember that the Republican party selected him, enabled him, and has encouraged his lawless behavior.

Johnson himself has said that his probe will “certainly” help Trump win re-election.

JFC. They don’t even care that they’re saying the quiet part out loud anymore. The corruption of the Republican party under this president is so total and devastating, I have a hard time wrapping my head around it. Also remember how outraged one Congressman Pompeo was when SOS Hillary Clinton didn’t immediately hand over zillions of documents he was demanding as part of a ridonkulous fishing expedition back in the heady days of the Benghazi hearings? Good times.

Pompeo has “demonstrated alarming disregard for the laws and rules governing his own conduct and for the tools the constitution provides to prevent government corruption,” Engel said.

IOW he’s a perfect representative of the KKKockholster KKKlan.

Good. He is contemptible.

Considering taking a step towards possibly setting a date for potential contempt hearings? Ugh. This is why the Washington Generals never beat the Globetrotters…

Makes one wonder, after that shit show and the universal reviews saying Trump is toast, will Pompeo and/or Barr start to distance themselves. I don’t think Pompeo is smart enough to do it being a dyed in the wool stupid/arrogant Republican. Barr might try.

Uh oh! House is “considering”. House leadership is “troubled”. House might start thinking about the possibility of looking into forming a committee to consider the various responses that could be appropriate if certain House members deem things to be worthy of investigating. Yes, folks, our Dem leaders are hard at work with oversight and action. Just like Richard Neal who’s diligently pursuing Trump’s tax returns. So glad we have an opposition party.

I’ve got some for him. No point in letting it go to waste.

Would love few things more than to see Pompeo’s pompous ass nailed to the wall on this, or something, I’ll take anything that will shut him out of politics after this.

And a minor editorial note:

The Johnson-Grassley probe has come under fire for allegedly serving as a sieve for Russian disinformation. Johnson has confirmed that he took information from Andrii Telizhenko…

When they admit to it, it’s no longer “alleged”.

Really, little mice following protocol that the so called opposition Traitorpublicans just shove up their a__es. This is pitiful, worse each and every hour.

the request violated “the Separation of Powers doctrine.”

Trump / Barr / McConnell have returned “the Separation of Powers doctrine” to its rightful place as delineation between political parties rather than branches of government just as the founding fathers intended it to be.

End. Game.

If Biden wins, we need to close the myriad loopholes these traitorous fucks have found in the Constitution.

Sure, right after we release him from the cell Barr is holding him in (if we can find it) and treat him for the COVID they deliberately expose him to while in custody.

Of course, it’s not likely to matter that much when 25+/- states controlled by GOPers decide that they will now be refusing to obey or cooperate in any way whatsoever with the federal government, its laws and regulations or the Constitution itself, openly declaring their refusal and functional secession and filing lawsuit after lawsuit after lawsuit to be heard by Trump/GOPer-appointed partisan hacks and run up to the SCOTUS in order to destroy or delay EVERY. SINGLE. THING. until a GOPer POTUS can be elected to moot it all.

Anyone who thinks Biden or the Dems will be allowed to govern even slightly, even with control over the WH, Senate and House all at once, is fooling themselves.

I realize that with a polling lead the Democrats don’t want to do anything to “rock the boat” but inaction feeds into Trump’s “Biden in basement” narrative – inaction is a kind of action, and may rock the boat even more than pursuing Pompeo, kicking up a fuss about Coronavirus and Russia, and going after the Rittenhouse/Trump connection.

Pushing these narratives carries risk – of course! But to soft-pedal all of them is riskier still.

You can’t identify yourself with the “Rule of Law” and “Law and Order” if you flaunt the law. Another thread on TPM mentioned Orwell’s Doublethink and Pompeo’s duplicity is an example of it. There are lots of other terms for it, hypocrisy " OK for thee but no for me".

I’d bet a wad the Hose will NOT do shit to the fat ass. He knows that so he does whatever in the hell he wants. Can you imagine what this tub of guts would say if HRC said fuck your subpoenas?
