The House Oversight Committee’s markup session on H.R. 51, the bill aiming to make the District of Colombia a state, on Wednesday veered into a bizarre argument over Georgia Republicans’ new voting restriction law.
“House Panel On DC Statehood Bill Ruptures Into Squabble Over GA Voting Restrictions”
Of course it did. Currently, it’s “Anything Democrats Are Doing In The Presence Of Republicans Ruptures Into Squabble Over GA Voting Restrictions”. It could even be “_________ Ruptures Into Squabble Over GA Voting Restrictions”.
West Virginia showed how to do that. Created their own legislature, got Lincoln to buy off that they were the “legit” legislature for Virginia, and proceeded to split themselves off.
“Why can’t you bring a bottle of water with you when you go and see there’s a six or seven hour line?” the Republican responded.
The fact that Rep. Hice can throw out this hypothetical and not realize immediately that any “voting problems” to be solved in Georgia were not the non-existent “voter fraud”, but instead that voters literally had to wait six or seven hours in line (!) shows just how removed from reality and drenched in contempt for democracy he and his party cohorts have become.

Clearly this repube doesn’t have an issue with a voter waiting in a “six or seven hour long line”, like folks do in third world countries
so in equity and fairness to accessing the voting franchise, all voters should be mandated to wait six or seven hours to vote, wouldn’t you agree Mr. Voter Suppressor (R, everywhere)? oh yeah, and they can bring their own water way up in Fargo, waiting six or seven hours to vote
Sorry, I made some formatting errors so I had to start over. I was trying to say that I hate to be “that guy” but, it is the District of Columbia; Colombia is a country in South America. Might want to proofread before hitting the “Post” button…
