House Panel On DC Statehood Bill Ruptures Into Squabble Over GA Voting Restrictions

Welcome, newbie. Every new post gives you five free minutes to edit without being shamed by the appearance of the orange pencil. After that, we’ll all know what you’ve done. :grinning:

That had to have stung more than a little.

You need a sense of shame to feel a sting.

I’ve never had to edit a post, except of course when I do.

We could put Wyoming & Montana together. That would make it almost as populous as the county where I live.

I love how he just expects that Black communities will have six- and seven-hour lines.

Texas isn’t going to divide up - the shape of the state is too iconic.

I’m guessing we could squeeze a coupla Dakotas in there and you’d still be ahead.

Brainless Rethuglicants seem to hate democracy, particularly when it comes to people of color.

That’s the 30th amendment right? Style shall matter.

Maybe if Manchinville** is made a state capital, we can get DC Statehood, Infrastructure and VR Bills passed.

**I understand its $1,000,000,000 green energy center is fantastic

What they REALLY hate is losing, and DC becoming a state would be a huge loss for them.

That would make perfect sense for North and South Dakota.

I don’t think North Carolina would want to be associated with Miz Linz, though.

It should be. hahahahahahahaha

What about North and South California? I doubt they’d agree. My concern is with the small states which have outsize influence with 2 Senators for very few people, but that is part of the constitution.

How about a Disney-type sign outside of the Senate?

You must have at least 1 million population to have two Senators on this ride. (Sorry Vermont)

The State of Jefferson is a plan to create (only) an additional Republican state.

We should combined Montana and Wyoming into one state (Marlboro), and North and South Dakota into one (The Dakotas), and Missouri and Iowa into one (Misery).

That way we’d still have 50 States and wouldn’t need a new flag when DC, Puerto Rico/USVI (Paradise), and the group of outlying territories Guam/American Samoa/Northern Mariana Islands, etc. (US Oceania) each become a state.

"Hice argued that people don’t vote “with the expectation that they’re going to get snacks and water.”

IOW, ‘Let them eat cake.’

I had never heard of this peckerhead Hice until a few months ago. He has quickly scaled the slopes of my fecal roster.

Why can’t you see that a ‘six or seven hour line’ is racist AF? We’re supposed to be the ‘shining city on the hill’ not some third-world dictatorship where this type of suppression is common.
