What’s the over/under on the odds a congresscritter either shoots or attempts to shoot another member while in session?

Thomas may be once the investigators find out how closely his wife is connected with the insurrection.

Maybe what’s at play is an unintelligent design. Maybe there is a god and he’s a moron. He might be a bit of a dick as well. Just look around.

They can try to do this now, as in trying to be sneaky or just bully their way past, but it won’t last.

If it’s routinely and visibly flouted, then it’s a backfire. But after three Dems were infected Jan 6th, they have to try.

I agree on both counts.

Hoping there is enough will to block or eject those who defy the rules.

Am not exactly banking on it – but it is not impossible at this moment and sure would be nice to see.

Given what we saw happen on January 6th elsewhere, I rather expect they’re going to have to move to stiff sanctions and quickly. Stripping committee assignments seems like a good start.

Note to self for next practical cavity search before boarding airline as Congressionally-approved counter-argument.

Didn’t they ban weapons from the chamber in 19-whatever after sumner was nearly beaten to death? Or did that only apply to the senate

Stripping committee assignments requires the cooperation of the party that nominated them for those committees. They stripped King because the GOP was sick of him and was confident of retaining his district.

Ah. So only Republicans should have to go through metal detectors and gloved-up cavity searches to leave their offices.

Don’t wear a mask, otherwise they won’t take you seriously.

I wonder if refusing to pass through the metal detector (and thus blocking others from getting to their vote) could be construed as a breach of the peace.

They may not be subject to arrest, but I’ll bet they can be 1) not admitted to the chamber and 2) fined by Nancy et al. I also suspect that there may be a law suit, but seeing as how the rules of the House and an independent brach of government, the courts won’t touch it. Send your vote in with a fellow member if you are unwilling to be follow the rules.
