I think the big media are all corporate wagons now – not press wagons. i.e., they’re in it to protect the big-money capitalists that unfortunately are now considered the beating and essential heart of our country, not to protect any information gatherers and purveyors whose work, if permitted, might spur public doubt about whether the top class in America ever does anything for the actual good of the American people generally

. In targeting Fox, Obama was clearly targeting a wealthy corporate interest whose entire program is promoting other wealthy corporate interests, hence the corporate wagon circle. Whereas Trump is targeting a potential truth leaker and corporate-power skeptic, so no wagons circles permitted for that cause.

But you knew that.

I’m not navigating the link; but, thanks!
I had some cause to look into the islands’ history at some point in the last three or so months. They, and their past, were pretty cool.

It was lack of cell towers and Pokémon Go characters which ultimately made the nomads up and leave for richer resources in the thickets of London.

I doubt it’s as simple as just one reason. Musk is a racist, a transphobe and a libertarian, so he’s naturally aligned with the MAGA movement. He was promoting rightwing content on Xhitter before getting involved with Trump.

A way to quash investigations into his various businesses might have been part of it, but where else was he going to go when he decided to put his foot into politics? His natural fit is with the MAGA wing of the Republican party.

That would be superb. On the other hand, it is delightful to speculate on their silent inner thoughts on the day’s news. Faces so expressive. And cute.

TCF’s loyalist in Alberta, Danielle Smith lifted the ban on American booze. Although banning American liquor was only a symbolic gesture, she loves to drive a wedge into Canada’s foundation. The rest of the provinces and territories are hanging firm.

Can it be as simple as he wanted to own a President. Details are incidental.

The Epstein Files are the new “pee tape”.
Squirrels on the right, squirrels on the left - squirrels all around.

From the weekender
That comment made the situation on Capitol Hill quite plain: After winning the election, Trump and his partisans are willing to throw out any traditional rule book.

Just like Yogi, I am having deja vu all over again. I am pretty sure the traditional rule book went into the trash compacter sometime toward the end of Obama’s second term.

Let’s not forget we are here because the Robert’s Supreme Court threw out the rule book first and a long time ago. They not only made it possible, they made it happen.

I assume it also diffuses responsibility for the (guaranteed!:face_with_raised_eyebrow:) upcoming assaults on peaceful protestors whoever they’re sicced on. It’ll be Schroedinger’s Army—unlimited power and no one who can control them. :face_vomiting::face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

ETA: another feature, not a bug.
