Musk was the only one who could mount the DOGE shock-and-awe attack and, Musk-munchkin army in tow, successfully take a chainsaw to the federal government in illegal, irreversible ways. He was hired as a temporary employee, did his worst and left. Mission accomplished. Of course it was messy, but he did it. That he was able to do that has been worth its weight in crypto… to both Musk and Trump.
